Description:

Nodoka is the current Fedora default gtk-engine/theme.

Since 0.6.90.1 this engine comes with eight different themes (Nodoka, Nodoka-Aqua, Nodoka-Looks, Nodoka-Gilouche, Nodoka-Midnight, Nodoka-Rounded, Nodoka-Silver and Nodoka-Squared).

This page is supposed to be its official gnome-looks.org page. For the unofficial pages (and many thanks to the people who cared and created these pages), here are some:

I've began work on next series (0.8.x), most likely last pre 1.x.y which will again include new configuration options, bug fixes and various improvements. You can look at the initial ideas at

https://fedorahosted.org/nodoka/wiki/0.8.x_Brainstorm

Changelog:

----
* Use correct colours for progress bar in nm-applet
* Don't set row-color (rhbz #454644)
* Improve evolution hack (rhbz #446785)
* Correct amount of fill in Scales (rhbz #455738)
* Correct notebook rendering with expanded tab (fh.o #36)

 Firefox 3

by SpookyET on: Feb 19 2008

The forgotten patch is not required since Firefox 2.0 and it's causing bad rendering in FF3.

If I read the bug correctly, I already removed the unneeded patch during the process towards 0.7.0 release (which is not out yet).

It still has rendering problems with rounded text box corners.

Yup, this workaround is needed due to GTK behaviour. All engines have this problem but each solve it their own way (like hardcoding maximum roundness for text boxes - to minimize the effect - faking transparent background - which does not work for gradient backgrounds, etc...).

 Not Working...

by tubatodd on: Mar 9 2008

I've compiled the Nodoka 0.6.99.1 engine in Ubuntu 7.04 and copied the themes to the /usr/share/themes folder. When I select the theme, the colors are correct, but the engine is not being used.

Fixed: Must run...

./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-animation

I believe the prefix=/usr part is what was causing the engine not to work.

 Deb?

Could you please make this into a DEB file to make it easier to install?

I've never used deb based distro, so I don't know how to make deb packages. But if you'd like, you can grab rpm from koji [1] and convert it to deb using alien [2] (though it's not recommended way of installing packages). Or you might request for inclusion in your distribution.

 I have a question...

by jacinto on: Aug 18 2008

Is there a way to let selected menu item has strips just like the old nodoka engine?

The old nodoka engine is like this:
* stripes = TRUE, FALSE # use stripes in menuitems, progressbars and scrollbars

So when strips set true, the menuitems have strips too.

Anyway, the new one is much better looking. But I hope my menu Items have strips too.

Thank you!

Hi. Can you please look at eclipse running with this wonderful engine? Perhaps, you could fix background related bugs?
