Description: Dust is a concept for a new, refreshing look for Ubuntu. The idea was to take the defining aesthetic elements of Ubuntu and remix it into something clean, modern, functional, and unique.
It's a new take on the Ubuntu aesthetic using a dark palette and subtle colors.
Hi there,
I've downloaded and installed this theme, but it changes only the titlebar on my Gnome (Ubuntu). The toolbar icons, the toolbar color, the buttons and the scrollbars remains the same. :-(
The window decoration is enabled in my CompizConfig.
What should I do to get that look on the screenshot?
I love this theme but it has issues with the OpenOffice menu bar - the text is too dark to read. If you can fix that then this will be the perfect theme for me.
Thanks for the work so far.
The biggest flaw in this otherwise great theme are the scrollbars. I find The arrows look horribly blurry. Look at the scrollbar and the arrows in KDE's Oxygen theme. I think the theme uses pixmaps for the scrollbars, but the author could use the scrollbars and arrows from the latest murrine engine, they look quite nice.
This is one of my favorite themes and quickly becoming my favorite. As an Ubuntu user I have always really loved the OS but I never really cared for the themes that much.I always preferred Fedoras themes. But this is such a good theme. It looks very sophisticated and the colors are very easy on the eyes when you spend a lot of time looking at a laptop screen. My only question is what is the wallpaper that you are using on the preview pictures. I would like to have it.
Thanks
Hi,
I`d like to change sidebar colour (Totem`s sidebar, Nautilus`s left panel etc.) in Dust Cold. What should I change to do it?
P.S. thnx for a great theme=)
this is nice, i use it myself (and make a blog about it) :) http://dummyxl.wordpress.com/2009/05/20/ubuntu-9-04/
one thing I think it will be nicer to have the tabs (>rsc>resources>documents) a bit less tall so it looks nicer.
I have upload a shot so you can see what i mean.

But overall i vote good!
This theme, is superb..
The one critique I have, is that the minimise, maximise, and close icons could do with looking a little better.. Unfortunetly, I have no suggestions :P
Very web 2.0!!

This is by far my personal favorite theme that uses the clearlooks and murrine engines.
It has it's own unique beautiful look which is great for linux.
Thankfully it uses the murrine engine sparingly which in my opinion is a good thing.
Why - because if you ever look at windows vista default look without applying aero then you have what appears to be a murrine look - nuff said.
The graphics are minimal and the colors are subtle and pleasing. All over I'd have to say this theme is state of the art.
Really hope you bless us with some more work of this caliber soon.
something similiar like thunderbird problem, just with netbeans...
Colors for menus is ti similiar, very problematic, and also toolbar is not standard size. I tried to make netbeans use default human theme but no success there, if someone can please help.

naghahanap ako ng magandang theme, tinignan ko yung pangalan sa ubuntu wiki. naisip ko parang mga pinoy ito. galing! highest rated! mabuhay ang pinoy!! :)
This theme is very simplistic in nature, yet stylish in its own right. So, it's not really surprising if alot of people gets to like it.
PS: Tignan mo nga naman. Di pala ako ang kaisa-isang dust user dito sa gnome-look. At least, may representante tayo sa bug-trackers. Mabuhay! Ehe!
Very nice theme, but is there any way to have all ( or at least most) applications look the way Nautilus does (having the black/dark brown bar instead of the gray one)?
Hi. I'm have problems with Thunderbird's fonts colors. Take a look in screenshot:
