My first theme! This theme is based on Nemmeth`s `Windows 7 basic theme lookalike` http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Windows+7+basic+theme+lookalike?content=106601.
I added a Windows 7 cursor theme (not mine) and a Windows 7 icon theme (not mine).
HOW TO INSTALL:
1: Download the .tar.gz file.
2: Right-click on your desktop and select `Change Desktop Background`.
3: Select `Theme`, then drag and drop the file in.
4: Then click `Customise` and select the themes.
5: Delete the top Gnome panel.
6: Raise the bottom panel to 40 pixels.
7: Install Gnomenu http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/HOW+TO+INSTALL+%22GNOMENU%22?content=108571
8: Install DockBarX http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/DockbarX?content=101604
9: Add Gnomenu to the panel and download this theme for it http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Windows+7+clone?content=104163
10: Apply the Gnomenu theme and button, if you don`t know, how google it.
11: Add DockBarX to the panel and select `new` as the theme.
12: Download a Emerald theme for Windows 7 (if you do not have emerald, enter: `sudo apt-get install emerald` in the terminal) you can find a Vista/7 theme on gnome-look.org.
13: Download Screenlets, enter: `sudo apt-get install screenlets` in the terminal, then open Screenlets Manager and place some screenlets on your desktop, and right click on them and click window then check `stay below`.
WHAT I CHANGE

I fixed the: buttons, scrollbars, menus (barely), radio buttons, check-boxes, progress bars, tabs, and sliders. I replaced all of these (except the menu, that was just a little out of place) with screen shots from Windows.
Known problems:
1: The `up` and `down` scroll buttons do not appear when you move your cursor over the scroll-bar the way they do in Windows.
2: The windows are not transparent the way they are in Windows.
3: The file browser does not look the way it does in Windows.
4: The bottom Gnome panel is not transparent.
5: and some other minor details...
Please tell me if you know how to fix any of these problems.

I don't know what the problem is, but you should post that problem here: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/HOW+TO+INSTALL+%22GNOMENU%22?content=108571 When you post there, also say what OS you are using.
Could you make it without the windows logo? Maybe tux?
where do you mean "without the windows logo", in the file browser? because I was going to replace that with the aero 'busy' thing (in 0.2)... but I could replace it with tux. Or do you mean the Gnomenu theme?
I'm not sure. I just want to know if it could have the linux logo instead. If you don't want to, that's OK :) I just don't like how windows theme clones have the windows logo, because I am using it on linux.
OK... I could make another version without the windows logo... that's not my GTK theme though, that's the icon theme, but I can still change it really easy.
OK.. I'm almost done, I just have the Wine icon left, what should I do to that? Right now it has the Windows logo with a green check-mark in the corner...
Leave it :)
OK... uploaded it. Tell me if I made any mistakes.
Thank's a lot :) I will try it later.
congrats!!! your first theme, it looks so good to be your first strike :) keep it up!! ;) positive vote for you
Thanks :)
Hi you can get the Gnomenu how to here http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/HOW+TO+INSTALL+%22GNOMENU%22?content=108571
Why to hell do all Win7/Vista themes have green menubars?? This is not the correct color, and this is not beautiful.
If I would have to think of a reason, it would be: Because we can Because the appearance of W7 actually is good
I didn't say it's not a good idea to mimic Win7. If people like it, I have no problem with that. I was just wondering why Vista/7 themes always had green menubars.
My apologies. I completely misread. I think it's because they all use the same source which offers the incorrect colour. Maybe people should really create a theme by hand, in stead of using source material from a faulty theme.
Why start from scratch when you already have a theme that looks close to Windows 7.
That's true, but even so, you can create some parts from scratch if the source is not accurate enough. That's what they call improvement.
no... It's really easy to change the menu colour its just a photo that I edit or replace, but what should go there??? It can't be transparent the way it is in Windows.
I can easily change it.... but then what colour should it be? I can't have it transparent... when I tried having it transparent it was just gray/white. Sure I'll change it, but to what?
It should be grey: http://i.d.com.com/i/dl/media/dlimage/19/08/49/190849_large.jpeg
