P.S.: all themes are not my original work. this hard work is done by various artists and developers. the original code was written by Phrank Waldorf. the credit goes to him. i am just a facilitator.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT. if u would like to have more such themes in the future than sign up and become a fan to get regular updates.Last changelog:
somehow the tab below is not working. copy paste the link to download. http://www.zshare.net/download/79329118acd609af/
u r welcome!
one more thing u should try is...
once u have installed this script, u can install any theme (even existing) in the same format. it keeps the format intact changing only the theme. also, if you want full transformation to windows u can visit my site www.pujaos.cjb.in and download the package. hope it helps. chao!
Man, your work looks nice, although some drawbacks spoil all impression:
1) Your installer is awful! Why must it be located on the Desktop? My Desktop folder is named different (XDG, you know)!
2) Where are backups? Where is an UNINSTALL feature? I installed your theme and played with it for 30 seconds, and - spent half-a-day restoring my ruined settings!
3) You promised there won't be any Windows logo? Why I see one right on the Start button? Please replace all of Windows logos with Ubuntus, Tuxes or something!
4) Why does the installer rename Computer, Home folder and Recycle bin? First, it breaks any localization, and it causes problems: I store my documents in ~/Docs folder, NOT in ~/. Please make renaming an option!
Anyhow, if applied manually and carefully, your theme does make the PC look just like an XP one. I'm voting up.
1st of all, i would like to thank u for ur honest and sincere comment. thanks a lot!
actually i am an amateur at this and i don't know much about creating themes. even the coding was not done by me. i only did a bit of fine tuning to the coding.
i had changed everything related to windows logo. m amazed that u r getting windows logo at start button. i will surely check and replace the same, if any.
also, it will be very helpful of u if u can help improve the theme. i believe it has huge potential for building of future themes.
thanka once again for posting!
hey, i have checked the start button. it is not a windows logo. it is a customized ubuntu logo which i have built. kindly look carefully and reply me back.
Well, actually I had some elements of your theme prior to the install. Maybe it's because of it?
Anyway, after I restored my previous settings, I installed manually the metacity, xcursor and icon themes you provided. And you know what? If I select them manually, the 'start logo' is an Ubuntu-like one. So the problem appeared only when using the install script.
Hopefully this helps.
Well, actually your work seems to be very good. Just ensure that users are always able to roll back. A good idea would be to automatically create an uninstall script. gconftool-2 will help you dump the settings before changing them.
