KSplasherX for KDE4
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
Description:
KSplasherX for KDE4 alpha 1
---------------------------
This is KSplasher (a convenient Splash Screen Editor and Creator) but for the new ksplashx, the splash engine for KDE4.
At time, you can create functional Splash Screens, but they can't be easily scaled as the one you see in the base KDE installation, but soon. That means that what you do in the editor screen is the final result so if you need bigger icons, you need to use a small background (or resize your icons, and then use it on KSplasherX).
Anyway, you can test your screens, and save as Directory or .tar.gz file. Also you can change author info, etc.
Editing a splash screen is still unimplemented (and maybe will never be, due to the lot of options in description.txt file) so this maybe has to be renamed from "Editor and Creator" to just "Creator".
You need pyqt4 (python-qt4) and PIL (python-imaging).
If you think you're capable to write some script (or make better mines) for generating animations (see filters.py in "modules" filder) plz contact me.
Any other help will be appreciated (translations, icons, logos, artwork, etc)
Well see ya. Good Luck. Last changelog:

Hello, sounds like an useful tool, but it does not start. İ am on Debian 8.7. The installation from the *.deb file does not start because of Python Problems / dependencies. dependencies are fullfilled. Downloadind, extracting and installing the tar file works. İt creates a link under graphics. Clicking this link does not start the Application. İ can start it from the shell when İ start it via the complete path to the bin. After it started İ could make a Splash. The procedure is very intuitive and very easy. BUT!!! The Program crashes after İ click finish.
Love this app. Does great. One thing I noticed is you can not "reload' an already created Splash. Any plans for that?
