To achieve gold and not olive color you would have to create a texture not a solid colour. Search for some images (e.g. tutanhamon) and zoom in to see the many different colours that makes the gold impression.
Not sure. but when installing scheme from kde system settings "GET NEW SCHEME" on another system of mine it leaves out alot of graphics. Working to figure out why.
