KOREMIN Emerald Compiz-Fusion theme
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
Description:
I have been asked to make a KORE (invented by code2) Emerald theme with smaller side-windecos. Here it is. All I have done was editing some images to half width and editing the theme.ini.
The only problem at the moment is that I have SCALED the images from eg 13x3 to 7x3 so the corners are not perfectly round. Id be very glad if anyone could give me a hint how to solve this.
HOW TO INSTALL: Unpack the tarball. Move the KOREMIN/ folder to ~/.emerald/themes/ .
Click on Refresh in Emerald Theme Manager to show KOREMIN and select it.

Hello David, Thank You for good comment on XAIRON-COMPIZ !!! It seems You are a little bit "FAN-atic" in the moment. I have the greatest respect on code2's work. He makes not only style, he is the style! But You can't go around to all black-styled themes and say, that it is a worse version of code2's excellent work. I would never tell You, that You have made a worse COPY of the Kore-Theme (Look at the corners of KOREMIN). So please respect not only code2's work, respect also others work !!! Thank You and peace ~ottlux
BTW, happy birthday!
Hello, To make the corners perfectly round, you could scale the image proportionally, not just horizontally. If you do that, just autocrop the image (in gimp) and you should be fine.
guys..i already installed emerald-themer and koremin theme show up..but when i selected the them..nothing change..plz help me :(
I've installed koremin and all the dependencies (at least I think all of the dependencies) and it's missing a lot of the look. Any ideas? (pic below) http://img2.freeimagehosting.net/image.php?d58c8014d0.png
Try looking in the main menu in system preferences. If u have emerald installed it should work. As always there is the terminal alternative just type "emerald-theme-manager". If u dont have emerald installed just type "sudo apt-get install emerald". If u are using ubuntu 7.10 the package emerald-themes is no longer included in repos. Later on to use emerald just type "emerald --replace". Hope this helps.
hiya guys im really new 2 ubuntu an i need some serious help, how do i get emerald theme manager? plz help
Install the whole compiz-fusion package with synaptic or what you want to use. Make sure you have the right drvers for your graphics card installed before this. Just select all the packages with the name compiz or emerald in it.
Despite having Emerald installed, I don't appear to have a .emerald directory. Searching the filesystem turns up nothing for "emerald" or "themes" that are correct for this. Am I missing something?
I use the original Kore windeco and I was able to trim the sides just by using Emerald Theme Manager. Seems to have the same resul as your work =)
if it's not showing up, chances are that ".emerald" is not ending the file name :)
I have just said that the emerald theme manager cant handle it and you HAVE to move the unpacked folder to ~/.emerald/themes.
I know, but I'm just saying an "emerald" file will be recognized, and a non-emerald file (this one) will not. but the exception is sometimes a emerald file that doesn't have the extension!
Just wondering could you point out how one is to install this theme. Emerald doesn't seem to see it... (with import button) Do I have to manually import the theme?
Yes, you have to move the folder to ~/.emerald/themes/ as I have just written in the description.
1. how do you upload more than one file??? 2. nice work!
As far as I know, the only options for this are 1)creating other contents with the other files and making links to them, 2)hosting them on an upload site and giving direct download links or 3)making new contents as in 1), but you give the DIRECT download link (to the uploaded file). But I dont think you can upload more than one file in one content.
Very nice dark theme overall... any chance you can make the close/minimize button something new and not Vista like?
I can try, but since KORE is not my work (this work is just modified), keep your hopes low^^. Im not that skilled and editing the close/maximise/minimise buttons is not easy for me. But I'll try.
