all i had to do was convert to a tar file, then extract the files and manually put the folder "black" into my .emerald/themes folder in my home directory, and then when i restarted emerald it showed up and worked.
Dunno if it is a must but here emerald-theme-manager was complaining about bad tar format and not importing the theme.
Solution:
gzip black.emerald
mv black.emerald.gz black.emerald
