Description: The Quote of the Day Screenlet is a tiny python script to display your most favorite quotes on your desktop. Not much more use, I wrote this script just to get familiar with the screenlet sourcecode.
Since version 0.4 it is also possible to use RSS feeds as source for your qoutes.
The snakenet.org quotes can be accessed via: http://snakenet.org/quotes/rss
IMPORTANT: The Qotd Screenlet depends on the croatoan library ( http://snakenet.org/croatoan )Last changelog:

is there a step by step howto for installing the croatoan lib on natty? I have downloaded the croatoan lib like 7 packages but none seem to work or I simply don't know how to install it.. Please help a complete noob.. thanks
Hey there,
i just merged the Croatoan-Lib into the screenlet tarball, so you won't need to download the lib separately anymore :) just use the screenlet-manager and install it from there and it will run out of the box.

Good, simple screenlet. One more thing I had to download and install was some croatoan lib from your site, to start this screenlet.
If you are still working on this screenlet, then some additional features would be great to add, such as:
-read quotes from rss
-change font
-choose whether to draw background.
To use RSS is a great idea, i just implemented it and i like it a lot, very nice.
I also will implement your other suggestions since i already planed to do some enhancements in the style-sector.
And yes, i forgot to add the information about the Croatoan lib. Unfortunately it has do be downloaded as well because in there i do my whole crawling and time mesurements. Maybe i will make a mini-croatoan version so that the qotd screenlet can be downloaded as one package.

I cant download this screenlet. When I click on the download link it goes only to another page, but not any download is started.
