I like it but I noticed that the hard disk behave strangely as I use it
Can you give mi somekind of output, or how did you notice this so I can reproduce this and debug?
Relly helpful! thank you so much
Hey! I'm new to ubuntu. I was desperately finding a network usage meter with a nice interface. But I don't understand how to install this. After downloading .tar.gz. what's the next step. Please somebody help me.
you first need to install screenlets package, because this is a screenlet.. next you create folder called ".screenlets" in your home directory (but without quotes) and unpack downloaded archive to this folder, now just run screenlets and start netmonitor
Hi mate! Great addon, I love it. Just one thing... When I uncheck "reset counter everyday" the counter just stops working. Is that normal? It works fine if it is checked. Thank you!
this never happened earlier, but yea, it's a bug, I checked and it doesn't work.. I'll fix that as soon as possible (after New year, tests on collage...) thanks for report
How to translate this screenlet?
hardcode translation?
You can translate it on https://translations.launchpad.net/indiv-screenlets (it's called netmonitor-screenlet), although it's not the latest version there. But you can always try to convince the developer of this screenlet to update the version on Launchpad (or do it yourself, if you fail to convince him).
TOP! Thank you, you saved my day ;) I'm using mobile internet over wLan hotspots and I have to know how many bits and bytes I already used for my limit. The default NetMonitor didn't work but yours is doing its work fine. It did only work for ppp0 (3g device). :)
Hello, This is great screenlet! There is currently a problem, however, with the total traffic counter. The Upload/Download totals always display 0 if the month spans the new year. For example, on today (December 17) if I set reset day to 17 the month range is calculated to be "December 17 - January 17" and total values stay at 0. If I set to 18 (tomorrow's date) the range becomes "November 18 - December 18" and the totals work fine. - - - Also garyedwardjohnston requested "mini mode - totals only" in a previous comment. I also think this would be a nice new feature especially if it had "Download", "Upload", and "Total" (Download + Upload). Thanks!
Another reset day problem... Cannot set reset day greater than 28.
yes, I set that because of February... It isn't logical that your provider(or whatever) resets your stats on eg. 30th day of month, because February doesn't have 30th.. So I thinked that way and put 28 as MAX.. hope you understand my thinking :S :)
Another bug: the resset counter everyday option doesn't work if the computer is not on at 24:00 h. Thnx
I don't know what is wrong.. I just try it and it worked :S are you shure that you set it on "daily reset" try deleting all settings and go to propertis>options and then chech daily reset
Is it just me, or the download link doesn't work?
Sorry. It works now. Great app. Thanks!
Is it possible to add a "Session Reset" mode? I need only in/out totals for current session and counters to be reset on every relogin.
yes it' s possible.. i will add it when i have time..
first of al.. this 1 z realy a vvry helpful stuff. realy love this one. wel im here to make rqst..im using broadband connection scheme which offers 2:00am - 8:00am unlimitted usage and 8:00am - 2:00am usage is charged... so we usually use the unlimited one for mass downloads & other for regular usage.. so it'll be great if there any way to show seperately the usage of different time periods... can you plz hlp us... :)
sorry man but I think that this would be complicated and I need to rewrite several functions again... I don't have time for this now...
ok, no prob :( ... but, no offence, would you permit me to edit your code?? if you dont mind.. :) im not gud in python though.. :)
yes of course... it's gnu GPL licence, isn't it? :D I took code from whise's netmonitor (v0.6)...
