Like you said it goes really well with darker themes, and is good if you care about your screen space. Very good overall.
Personally, I prefer a slightly brighter text color (against the background) for the "Favourites" "Application" "Shutdown" and "Computer" tabs on the left. I changed them myself though, so no problems.
Although I won't be using it myself, I must say it's very nice looking. There are many GnoMenu themes that are cluttered or disorganized, but yours is the exception. Nice!
