I cannot fathom how this became the highest rated skin. So dark you can't see anything and the menus are non-existant. It has been stripped of most functionality.
under linux, copy the vlt-file to /home/USER/.vlc/skins2/
if the "skins2"-directory don't exists, create a new directory and rename it to "skins2".
now you can select the skin in vlc.

1) open your VLC settings and change your interface from native to skins. Y
You can choose your desired skin already there or change it when you are in the skins mode by rightclicking somewhere on the skin and going to Interface>Choose Skin.
2) VLC needs to be restarted to change to skins mode.
