I dig this spash screen!
At the risk of sounding like a rookie Linux user (I am!),how do I install this so I can use it as my splash?

Everything is too close together, and it looks cluttered You have the shiny foot (which looks pretty good), the word GNOME, and a blue dot. I don't see why the last two things are even necessary; you don't see apple's splashscreen having a large apple, the word APPLE in huge letters underneath, and a random dot, do you? Good design is all about balance and moderation. Ask yourself how many elements are enough to adequately show the meaning and the style of your art, and leave it at that. Otherwise it gets too complicated.

In fact, I actually never saw Apple's splash screen... I designed this one because of that one: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=42836 (look at my comment). I don't even use it on my computer :-p
But, well, I think I could do one that takes account of your comment.
You HAVE got to be kidding?! You rip off Apple's look and feel .. then tell someone else to change what they've done. Yeah.. right.. sure.. NOT!

First of all, aergern is right: you just copy Apple's artwork, but when I copy your work, you don't agree. Do you really think this is logic?
Secondly, and that's what is REALLY fun, your work is under GPL... So I can modify and redistribute your work: YOU DELIBERATELY GAVE ME THIS LIBERTY. I even mentionned that you're the original author.
Sorry guy but I can do what I did (well maybe YOUR work is illegal as it uses Apple's logo).

this is the exact same splash screen as mine with just the logo and text different Please Change This and Make it your own dezine
