GNOME Basic Black
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
I like black. Lots of black. So here is a GDM theme based on the basic "Ubuntu Human" theme (it uses same icons and basic layout) but it is black and is GNOME branded. I created this version to be more "generic GNOME" than my previous version for Ubuntu. (If you prefer it, the "Ubuntu Basic Black" version is over at Ubuntu-Art.org: http://ubuntu-art.org/content/show.php/Ubuntu+Basic+Black?content=81031)
Included in the archive are two splash screens and three wallpaper pictures (1600x1200, 1280x1024, 1280x800), all using the same basic logo. One of the splash screens is based on the "splash pack" by troseph (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Splash+Pack?content=61272). Also included is the SVG image of the foot/logo and the troseph splash screen.
For people who prefer a little color, I have included a number of foot colors: blue, green, copper, red, teal, purple, maroon, as well as the original black. To change the logo, open the terminal, type "sudo nautilus", enter your password, browse to "/usr/share/gdm/themes/GNOMEBasicBlack/", delete "gnome.png" rename whichever other color file you want to "gnome.png". That should do it.
Feedback is welcome.
2008 05 29 - noticed that all of the colored foot graphics had the same problem as the blue one (see below) and corrected all of them
2008 05 24 - corrected the blue gnome foot GDM graphic
2008 05 17 - more tweaking of the logo; added a number of different colored "foot" logos for the GDM; added the SVG files (vector graphics) of the foot/logo and the splash screen by troseph for people who want to do some tweaking themselves.
