For some reason, the window borders/titlebar isn't detected in Linux Mint 16.Hope that is resolved :)
I have test the theme in debian testing and i have no errors here. By my mint LMDE i can´t test it becaus i don't have install gnome by my mint. But in toolbar.css by the GTK-3.10 themes i add: .window-frame { background-color: @bg_color; } .titlebar, ... and it should work. Can you show me a sreenshot?
Hi, sorry, it seems to be working fine. I just looked at screenshot and thought that the theme comes with window borders of it's own and wondered why I couldn't find it in the list. One thing - Nemo (Linux Mint's file manager) looks funny, it's dark icon labels on dark background. http://bayimg.com/nalakAAFm I tested it with the Smoothly 3.8 and Smoothly 3.10.
The window borders are from sawfish-1.10 window manager. I have add nemo support to the gtk+-3.10
very unique
Nice! But I have a problem with gedit: the line numbers are white on white. Can you fix it?
Hi, Done. Bugreports for gtk-3.6 themes always welcome.
Actually, I'm on gtk-3.4 :). Have two questions: 1. In evolution the small triangle which is used to collapse the chain of replies is black when the chain is opened and white when is closed. 2. In nautilus the icons for the selected elements (when in "icons" mode) are completely black. Is this the intended behaviour? I can live with the first, but the second is rather disturbing. The filenames are nice (especially when non-focused, totally awesome!), but I'd rather the icon be at least a little distinguishable. But the theme is nevertheless perfect! For so long I wanted to find the usable theme with dark controls but with black-on-white textfields. This is the first. Thanks!
In nautilus, it is fixed in the gtk-3.4 themes. In evolution this is that what i want. If you don't like it you can edit this in gnome-applications-dark.css: EShellWindow *:active { color: shade (@base_color-b, 1.00); background-color: shade (@bg_color-b, 2.00); }
Another bug in 3.4: gnome-contacts are white on white.
Fixed.
I like it. Way to go. Too bad about not producing a deep blue theme, though. In my opinion slate gray is too overly used in a lot of Gnome 3 themes. I like darker themes but a deep blue would be a nice change of pace...easy on the eyes and all that. Still, your style is what sets you apart from Gnome theme creations...which is a positive. Thanks for your efforts. Bob
Hi I don't know, but i have test it in Smoothly Black and change the color "bg_color-b" in gtk.css in a dark blue color and dark blue is/was a very ugly background color for me for a theme background. Regards
but it would be nice to see maybe a deep blue and black theme as well...in the same style as this one, of course. Nice work. Thanks. Later...
Hi Thanks for reply. I work on an black theme and "backdrop" for this one. I not plan to build a blue or dark blue theme. Regards, Fuchur
Fantastic gtk3 theme, I loved it and voted good! The problems is with gtk2 apps, because there is no smooth gtk2 engine for Fedora, and the source doesn't even compile :( Any help?
Ok. Debian have the gtk2 engine smooth im pool: http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/g/gtk-smooth-engine/gtk-smooth-engine_2.14.3+deb5.tar.gz Download and run: yum install automake17.noarch aclocal ./autogen.sh ./configure --prefix=/to/the/install/path make make install Or use rpmbuild with my quick and dirty spec file: http://mitglied.multimania.de/fuchur2004/gtk-engines-debian.spec
Thanks, that did the trick!! But gtk2 looks very different from gtk3 apps...is that right? All the best, Germán.
By the gtk-2.0 theme looks the background epual the gtk-3.0. The "style" from the items (buttons tabs ...) is differentially because the smooth engine can't draw round cornes from items. I like grandient look for menubar toolbar etc. and this only work with the smooth engine. I use the gtk-2.0 look and style since many years (gnome 1.xxx) and i don't plan to change the look from gtk-2.0, sorry. With the unico engine and gtk-3.XX it is possible to build a theme with a "modern touch". If necessary (unico or gtk-3.xxx update) i will only update the gtk-3.0 theme. Again sorry :(.
Very nice theme.
Thank you. If i found some time i will add a dark background with the some style.
That would be great, I'd like to try this theme on for size but I lean towards using darker themes.
