...to me, that just doesn't quite seem to capture the spirit of summer...looks more like a winter-ish theme to me...

well. Which distro do you use? in case ubuntu, right click on your desktop > change desktop background > press the "Theme" tab and drop the summer theme to the window.
I have that exact same wallpaper on my laptop! :-) It's fantastic. Great job with this theme suite.
The color on the windows on the panel are not visible (white). it wud be gud if you can correct this. thanks for a nice theme though!
Ubuntu download?! ?? This theme works for Gnome - I think even with XFCE -, not for Ubuntu. Fedora uses Gnome, Debian uses Gnome, OpenSuse uses Gnome, gNewSense uses Gnome, and so on. Ubuntu is not GNU/Linux, it's just a GNU/Linux distribution. By the way, good theme. ;)
Actually, i just used linux about 1 month ago and didn't know much about it. Anyway, hope you enjoy this theme ^_^
