Description: Instructions: The background is transparent, so choose whatever color/gradient you like. The screenshots give some examples. Also, make sure you select to center the image and keep the aspect ratio as it is ridiculously large and made to be centered.
About the picture: This is a design I originally created for a t-shirt to make Japanese people say, "Huh?"
The shadowed Japanese text reads, "A fish sandwiched between two cutting boards." It's a play on words mixing "Between a rock and a hard place" and "Confronted with a hopeless situation." So there is some hidden meaning in this artwork. And that meaning is.....cutting boards make good armor?
Misc: I also have an svg version if anyone is interested. Opinions are welcome and I can tweak the image.
Screenshot two uses blue as a background...It feels a bit less violent and more funny than screenshot one.
Screenshot three is the original svg version. If you're going to use it in a project, please give credit where it's due.
Thank you. It's definitely one of the oddest pictures I've done. :) When making this, I was surprised how much the mood of the picture changed with the color.
Yes i understand what you mean, with any different color it looks great and new, i would like to see this transparency idea in more of the art work on this site
The idea is around, but it is more rare than it should be. A fair number of the pictures already on this site could easily be made to do transparent backgrounds using their source material if the authors just released them as transparent pngs. But I suppose they don't because:
a. They didn't think of it
b. They are worrying about Windows compatibility
c. They are being anal-retentive of the colors
I laughed at myself when I said windows compatibility...but it's not as far out as you may think. I'm sure there are some crazy linux users who want a picture of the gnome foot on their windows desktop just to show their love of the platform when they can't use it.
