I've looked into Arch a few times, but the installation instructions always scare me away. How long does it take you to get an installation to the point where Ubuntu is "out of the box". It only took me 1 to 2 hours to get 10.04 to where I was happy with it. Love the wallpaper.
I failed to install first 3 times was trying to run it off an external then I did a net install and succeeded on my main drive had a few rc edits and then to install a desktop via the cl but once I got it I had already started to learn more about linux in a few hours than I had on ubuntu in 6 months - don't get me wrong I am running lucid now, I've hopped a few distro's the top ten anyway out of curiosity - but back to arch it's very fast and for a personalized linux it certainly rocks the house but you need to be roughly at entry level intermediate linux experience to get it running but it's sweet.
Arch is kernel and kernel is linux no linux if kernel is not updated! I am a collector of linux and I try every day one after one but arch is the only one merited an entire disc devoted exclusively to him because he is always up for both packages for the kernel and has always been faithful to the spirit of linux just read about the procedure of installation for the first time and then becomes smooth like water ... If someone needs informations, I'll be very happy to help in the installation. Thanks for giving me two beautiful pictures dedicated just to Arch.
