The mantis is such a badass insect and cool too, the only people that should be scared of them are pussies :P
But in reality they are harmless, again not so much for pussies :D

Any good praying mantis ("Sonnenanbeterin" auf Deutsch) pic gets my vote.
I love the litle critters; when I'm working outide and see one, I usually hold out my hand and they climb right on, and I transfer them to my shoulder and take them for rides. :)

in my town this is really known by this name. h-milch is more careful with animals like this, and, he's right!respect them, could bite you (...)
They don't bite. I've heard them make a hissing noise when they are angry, though. That was the time that I saved one from my cat.
