Hi,
I like these original theme better. Especially the Equinox Light and the Equinox Glass. The Equinox Evolution which are now official in 1.40 has a serious bug. The scrollbar is minuscule, looks like a thin line.
Franfly I would rather drop the Equinox Evolution and make the Equinox Original the official themes.
i put in the ".themes" folder in my home the "Equinox Light" theme together with the "userChrome.css" and "Equinox Evolution.crx" files but still some parts in the gtk interface are missing ! the look in the top bar is different from the one in the main window (for example in synaptic) like the "safe mode" of ubuntu themes...
i update the "gtk2-engines-equinox" package and the theme package to 1.40 version through the ppa...where am i wrong ?

The themes installed in your ~/.themes folder are not available for other users than you. Synatic and other admin apps run always as root user (sudo) who do not have access to your themes.
To solve this, you can move or symlink your themes from ~/.themes to /usr/share/themes to make them system-wide (or to /root/.themes to make them available only to root).
