Description: This theme is not an exact copy of Adwaita the default GNOME 3 theme. It is just looked like. You will need the murrine and pixbuf gtk engines to use this theme.
You can find GTK3 light and dark themes here: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Adwaita-X+dark%2Blight?content=150905
INSTALLATION : 1. Extract to ~/.themes
2. Сreate a symbolic link to Adwaita GTK3 theme: ln -s /usr/share/themes/Adwaita/gtk-3.0 ~/.themes/Adwaita-X/gtk-3.0
Here is a comment I received from Glinx on my packagebuild for Arch. I have updated my packagebuild to patch your theme, but thought you may be interested in incorporating these improvements in your next update.
"I Change the lines in the gtkrc file for ff and tb to show the menu bar text correctly, and for same tooltips as my gtk3 apps.
libreoffice is the only programme on my system to show white menu bar text (ie unreadable) when selected. Ideas anyone??
For firefox and thunderbird
line 3 (end) changed to - nselected_fg_color:#2e3436"
line 219 changed to - fg[PRELIGHT] = "#ffffff" # selected item color
For tooltips
line 263 changed to - bg[NORMAL] = "#343434"
line 264 changed to - fg[NORMAL] = "#ffffff""
Yup, I have murrine 0.98.1.1-3 installed on archlinux, gtk2 version 2.24.10-3. This theme (http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Aldabra?content=142247) does work, except for its scrollbars.
Also, It does work if I use gtk-theme-switch2 instead of gnome-tweak-tool to apply the theme.
gtk-theme-switch2 created a ~/.gtkrc-2.0 that sets the theme, so it's working fine now, and there's no theme errors when I launch any apps. I could investigate more, but it's probably a gnome 3 bug that's been inadvertantly fixed in Ubuntu, in their many patches needed to get Unity to work.

Superb theme, the best nconsistency for gtk2/3 apps in Xfce 4.10. Thank you!
I love this theme! Thank you very much. I packaged it for Arch's AUR https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=58198.
Absolutely brilliant. The GTK2/GTK3 inconsistency is a bite in the butt of Gnome-Shell. This functionally makes everything better. Thank you so much!
Thanks. I did it for myself and I glad to it likes somebody else.
Just changes the size of the scrollbars. I have the engines installed.
I have installed gtk-engine-murrine 0.98.1.1 on my Ubuntu 11.10 Do you have same version?
