Description:
Code name: GT4
GT4 are gtk pix-map theme that uses aqua feel and look.
Some changes occurred because they plays better with gnome, and that was main idea
in creating this theme.
The end result is nice and clean skin.
For people that want metacity buttons on left side GT4_left is included.
To get buttons on left side go to
Applications > system tools > configuration settings.
Then go to apps > metacity > general
and change button layout from menu:minimize, maximize, close to close, maximize, minimize:menu
then load gt4_left meatcity.
That would be all so far

Hi there thanx for the great theme just whacked it onto my parents computer as a suprize - am shure they're gona love it! The only prob is after figuring out everything on getting the theme to work on my installation of Debian I don't know how to change the icon next to Applications in the top menu bar and also how you got the Dock aswell??
Simply the best Aqua-like theme I've seen. GT4 doesn't completely rip off the OS X design, but it pays homage to some of the nice touches in Aqua. The end result actually looks cleaner. I just wish the performance of the pixmap engine didn't suck. =)
Well, I have tried your suggestion, and just about everything else imaginable, but I still cannot get it to display in my list of themes in the System -> Preferences -> Theme menu. What is strange is that I tried to install the theme when I had Fedora Core 4, and it would not work. Then I tried it again after getting Fedora Core 5, and it still would not work. I guess the theme is just not meant for me.
Open theme dialog and click on second button from the top where it says Theme Details, and see is it listed there.
I cannot seem to get it to work. I have downloaded and untarred the file in my ~/.themes directory. But the theme does not show up in my list of themes in Preferences -> Theme. How do you install the theme?
I am installing theme same way you did. Make sure that .themes directory is in your home directory and ussualy that`s hiden folder. If that still doesn`t help then untar files to you home directory then moved them to /usr/share/themes/ to move them type in terminal sudo mv GT4 /usr/share/themes/ type in password and press enter.
finally a usable OS X placebo! thx!
