Contains more eyecandy than ordinary T-ish-Brushed themes, but also need more resources. However, it's still one of fastest themes with overlay effect.

TO-DO:- many things
)KNOWN PROBLEMS:
- panels cannot be transparent
- only upper areas (titlebar, toolbar and menubar) are overlayed. Sometimes it requires some gnome tweaking to achieve seamless look but contributes to speed significantly.
- some widgets does not behave correctly (gnome foot icon beckground in nautilus) and there seems to be no way to do it right.
- dialog windows background not overlayed. Help?
- menu backgrounds should be non brushed. To anyone, how can I turn off inherited gtk property (eg. pixmap backround) in child element? Is there a way?

it seems that metacity has a bug...look at this pitcure: http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/1871/metacitybug.png metacity borders have TRANSPARENCY in apps where RGBA is enabled (terminal, awn-manager, system monitor, ...) I AM NOT USING COMPIZ, just xcompmgr (-c -f 15), and in fact if I kill it windows borders return to their full opacity (dark grey). First I thinked that the theme was made like this, but reading the metacity-theme-1.xml file I haven't found any transparency option, and colors haven't got alpha channel...so I thinked...maybe metacity doesn't draw the borders, it draws only the buttons (it already happens with many mac themes, like t-ish aquastyle) and the "borders", that doesn't have roundness, could be the window backgrounds, whose opacity could be set by xcompmgr...is it possible? in effect, if I change the window background in the Appearance window, the color and the opacity of the border change... sry 4 my english...
Simply beautiful. Just the theme i was looking for. I have found one problem, however. The bars you use to adjust things like volume, transparency, etc, etc... are still the same as from the Human theme. Fix that, and it'll be perfect, imo. Also, you may want to update the link for the firefox theme to (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4927). The theme you have linked only works with older versions of firefox. -ttfn

It seems to me that it would be really hard to make it look complete and harmonious. But that's maybe just because I don't like themes so dark. However you could try it yourself. Just go to themes folder and try to change brush images. Cheers,

Thanks, Metacity buttons: Start gconf-editor from console. Or on ubuntu: go to: Applications->System tools->Configuration editor when gconf is started go to: apps->metacity->general and into button_layout field put the following values: close,minimize,maximize:menu Cheers

The theme looks great on my Gnome. But... how can I activate the shadows effect as on the screenshot?

Thanks, You'll need xcompmgr installed. Then you can start it with: /usr/bin/xcompmgr -sc -t 2 -l 2 -r4 -o .70 -C I suggest you to put it in some startup script for gnome session. But mind you, it will slower you down.

Very cool, I'm impressed that this doesn't bog down the system hugely like other similar themes. One thing I don't like about it, however, is that the metacity theme makes the title-bar quite big and the gtk2 theme seems to force status bars to be bigger than normal too... Is there a way to fix that?

Ok, I managed to get less spaced elements, but I didn't managet yet to trim the metacity theme, and statusbar heigt is actualy consequence of metacity rounded borders. I'll see what I can.
Looks great! Thanks a lot for the theme. Still can not get how you managed to make a panel at the bottom - covered by other windows? Is it a standard gnome panel or something different?
Thanks, It is a side effect of xcompmgr that I use for window shadows. Panel is standard gnome panel. If you are short on resources you can achieve this by starting xcompmgr on session startup and killing it immediately after or you can install gdesklets plugin "starterbar" which looks better than standard gnome panel but it's less usable. Note that metacity will just spawn itself again.
sry if this might be a stupid question but i had some problems installing your theme. i have debian and xfce running. also i installed gtk2-engines-* so pixmap and clearlooks are available. nxt step i copied your theme to ~/.themes. now i'm able to choose it in user interface and it seems to be running well, but the window decoration is still default and i can't find t-ish there.. so what did i do wrong? sry for my english and thanks for your help..
Don't know about xfce but your problem sounds like everything was not extracted as it should. I rechecked the theme and it works well, so look at the :~/.themes/T-ish-Brushed-Overlaid foder and check if you have metacity-1 and gtk-2.0 foders. If not extract them again. Let me know what happend. TOni
first thanks for you very fast reply both folders exist, i rather thought that perhaps some packages are missing as xfce is a very small desktop if you use it out-of-the-box. but the engines are installed and the whole theme looks well except the window decoration... confusing =)
