Description: Important --> You need to have Pixmap engine installed on you system for this theme to use, after, Please Read EleganceReadme file before you load theme, for important information.
Elegance2 ic continuation of Elegance theme, this time does not have bulky menubar, and has nicer and more elegant widgets. You need to try this theme to see the difference. Please try the theme before you decide to vote.
Where can I find the source for this pixmap engine? It doesn't seem to be included in openSuSE 11.1, nor can I find a rpm for it.
The theme selection dialog says that the needed GTK-Theme-Engine ">><<" ist not installed. Usually it tells the name of the engine between the >> and the <<.
Cheers,
Robert
Hi, great theme, just a question. Usually in other themes, when viewing nautilus in list view, the lines have alternating colors, which makes it easier to rad a list. What can I change in your theme to have that (for example, something in gtkrc, etc.)?
Oops, nevermind, figured it out. For those interested, just add the below to the Elegance2 gtkrc:
style "default"
{
GtkTreeView::odd_row_color = "#ffffff"
GtkTreeView::even_row_color = "#f3f5f9"
}
There is a readme file in elegance.tar.gz that explains how to do it.If you need more help then provided in readme, send me a message and I will get back to you.
the usercrome.css needs to modified so that the text in the firefox bookmarks toolbar stays visible when clicked.
for the life of me I could not get the black version of the menus (the suggested png file rename / change in the readme, I logged out logged in, what step am I missing?) to show text as white or grey, where are these settings located and what should they be, I tried playing around with the rs files but I'm still a noob with modifying?
simply wonderful theme, love the cyan-blue accent, looks very sharp with a blue glow windows decoration in compiz fusion.
I can definitely tell you put a lot of work into this one: so thanks!
I am a NEWBEE, LOL :>) Thus, I am in the need of a step by step intro of how to install this GTK 2.x. So, Please help me learn how to install this look, I would truly appreciate it!
However, regarding the KDE4-style panel, try looking at Moomex Ultimatum 0.7 and see how it is done there - because it works very well there, without leaving much empty space, which is the case in your theme.
Just a suggestion though. :)
Since I am using two images for the panel i can make it wider, or leave it same, it does not have to be like on screenshot.I do not mind space on the side, that is why i left as is.
That's not what I meant. Since you are using two images with two panels, one panel will be around 15px or higher, with nothing but empty space, and it doesn't look very nice. Instead, trying the Moomed Ultimatum-approach might work better. With that, there is only one panel, and thus no wasted space. It won't be able to use rounded corners, but it will look nicer as a taskbar.
I have to say I don't like it as much as the previous version. The gradient on the toolbar should have a stronger highlight, the widgets need more contrast. The Metacity theme looks more elegant and refined, though.
I have followed the instructions on how to install the Gnome looks in my Opensuse info area, but it doesn't seem to be working?!? Can any one be of service?

Very nice. Voted good.
I like the mix between clear and dark colors, very nice theme. Thank you! Just a question: Can you tell me the name of the icon set ?

in gtkrc: ########################### Menuitem ############################# style "menuitem" = "default" { xthickness = 1 fg[NORMAL] = "#CCCCCC" text[NORMAL] = "#CCCCCC" fg[PRELIGHT] = "#ffffff" text[PRELIGHT] = "#ffffff" in the userChrome.css: menubar > menu[_moz-menuactive="true"][open="true"] { color: white !important; } don't worry about it :) great theme
I am not expert for firefox, I provided userchrome.css that makes usage of firefox fair with black menus.I am using epiphany,and it suits me well.
Nice theme! What's the name of the icon-theme? I like it!
I used OSX_icon theme, as a base, but i am changing some of the icons how i need, and when i need it. So there is no any particular icon theme.
