Karmic X
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
Description:
This Theme tries to fit to the new Xsplash of Karmic. It is a dark theme so dont touch this if you dont like dark themes. This theme will be too dark if you have a dark display. Its ideal for notebooks i think. I am still not finished and i need some help from you. Especially the colours need some work i think. Does it fit the wallpaper on your screen? Too dark? Too bright? Please help me with the name.
Most credits go to SamSamTS because this theme is based on his beautiful sugar-themes.
Help me find a nice name for the theme! Last changelog:

I like your theme, and openoffice does not look good on the menu item. I hope soon the final version of the item. Greetings.
Open office and Firefox never go well with dark theme. For firefox i can use its themes. However, in Openoffice, i cannot change anything. Can you fix the bug in the menu of OO ?? http://i979.photobucket.com/albums/ae280/jasonvoorheeszzz/Screenshot.png
How to do rgba support with transparent like on this preview http://www.gnome-look.org/content/preview.php?preview=1&id=113509&file1=113509-1.jpg&file2=&file3=&name=Chromium+Browser+Murrine+RGBA+%28Mockup%29. If someone know how to do that thing please answer.

Hey, you should really borrow the panel from Lithium! I think it fits in most perfectly. Check it out: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Lithium+-+GTK,+Emerald,+Metacity?content=113368
Yes that is right. But i need to change the color of the panel and i dont know how. is someone good with gimp/photoshop and could colorize the lithium-panel that it fits to karmic X?
That's real easy ;) I'll play with it today after I get home from school :D
I can't wait for this connection. Really, this theme (+SudUbuntu Icon theme) should be default in next Ubuntu Release.
Thanks for your help!
Here is a XFCE Patch (I haven't tried it, but its used in the Dust Theme, which seems to work correctly: widget_class "*notif*" style "theme-inverted" widget_class "*Notif*" style "theme-inverted" widget_class "*Tray*" style "theme-inverted" widget_class "*tray*" style "theme-inverted" widget "*Xfce*Panel*" style "theme-inverted" class "*Xfce*Panel*" style "theme-inverted" Furthermore I suggest to change the following things for scrollbars: bg[SELECTED] = shade(0.85, @selected_bg_color) highlight_shade = 1.5 > add: lightborder_shade = 1.75 P.S. Please set the GtkRange settings in the "theme-default" configurations.
Sorry, I have forgotten something. Please remove the effects of the toolbar and menubar. Managing this, you have to add to the lines "GtkMenubar::shadow-type" and "GtkToolbar::shadow-type" the term " = GTK_SHADOW_NONE" instead of the number. And you have to remove these lines: #Toolbar class "GtkToolbar" style "theme-toolbar" class "GtkHandleBox" style "theme-toolbar"
Name suggestion: "Ruby Spotlight" But I suggest not to change the name, because "Karmic X" is very popular now ;-)
Ruby Spotlight is not bad. How about just "Ruby"? I want to change the name because karmic X sounds so exclusive for ubuntu karmic koala but i wanted to suggest the theme as community-theme for lucid lynx. Are you serios that karmic x is popular? The ratings is going bad again. i am sure it will go under 70% now. i would be happy when a lot of people like it but most dont like dark glossy theme. the linux-community likes minimalistic themes. I used windows and that why i like themes with many effects. anyway: thanks for your help! but one question. have you heard about the nautilus-sidebar-hack? the humanity-theme has it and with it, it is possible to make some changes to the nautilus-sidebar. i want to make it have the bg_color instead of white. only to check if it would look cool. But i wasnt able to to put in the right code. it never worked. maybe you have an idea?
In the bottom of the gtkrc of my theme "Plymouth Hemi 'CUDA" there's that patch (I took it from the NewWave Theme, but I have removed the unnecessary pixmaps)

Thank you very much for this clue. Now it work like it should work. I really like this theme, it has very tasteful look. +1 for name change. +1 for XFCE version :) Greet.
Thanks a lot for the XFCE-patch! About the scrollbars: Before i change them again, i want to wait for some feedback. I like your first suggestion a bit more.
"P.S. Please set the GtkRange settings in the "theme-default" configurations." Which line exactly? I have not understand. sorry.
I would like to thank you for the XFCE patch. Especially since it is gnome-look, not xfce-look (It would be nice, to see your theme there too). Best regards
it is there already: http://xfce-look.org/content/show.php/Karmic+X?content=112401 or do you mean something else?
I am talking about the lines number 28, 29 and 31, which are defining the size of the Scrollbar and should be set there and not in the "theme-scrollbar" section.
Thank you for this really great theme! The only thing which could be changed is the scrollbars which look to plain compared to the glossy buttons
Scrollbars changed. Do you like them?
Hello Thank you for this great theme. I'm using XFCE, and I don't know why, but I have panel in colour cream instead black: http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/1881/screenshotub.png I don't have idea how to fix this, maybe you have?? Best regards Sorry for my English.
You should also check Skype menu, when qt theme is set to gtk+ it look like this: http://img697.imageshack.us/img697/8664/screenshot.png
