Unified
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
Because of the close integration between the GTK and Metacity themes you will find:
* That the titlebar font size works best between 8-10 (using sans bold as an example). Depending on your monitor 11-12 may still be acceptable.
* That you cant change the windows background color (due to the GTK and Metacity theme integration).
* That KDE, Java and wxWidgets applications dont look as intended. I am looking into fixing this if possible.
Those points aside if you are like me and 99% of your applications are GTK you should have no problems... and the result look fantastic!
If you find a GTK application that hasnt themed correctly please report it below and I will see what I can do.
And lastly if you have the time it would be great if you could vote and comment on the theme. Note that this is my first attempt at a GTK theme so please be kind :-)
This theme requires the latest Murrine Engine.

External link for Unified extras is broken. (error 404).
Which font are you using in your screenshots? And is there something to integrate the theme with the latest versions of Firefox (6, 7)? The add-on provided is not compatible.
One of the best and most beautiful themes in existence.
Hi. I'm using Unified v0.4. Here is a screenshot of Inkscape with the Path Effect Editor sidebar open : http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/6313/screenshot000u.png Then I commented out this Inkscape workaround : widget "gtkmm__GtkWindow.*" style "try_to_use_window_background" # inkscape toolbars And it's ok now : http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/9714/screenshot001r.png
Please update the firefox theme to be compatible with 3.6.3. This is an awesome theme package!
Can honestly say this is the one theme I'm completely happy with.
After seeing some other themes, I really liked the scrollbar style on "Ambiance" but only the scrollbar... so I decided to mix it into your theme, http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/1337/screenshotrk.png It's just an idea in case you like it as much as I do. See you.
with the scrollbar style on "Ambiance" look better :D
how you get the borders shadows in the second pic (the rhythmbox properties??? do you use a emerald theme ?
You can use metacity as compositing manager, this will display shadows behind the windows and panel, to activate it write on a console the following gconftool-2 --type bool -s /apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager True
was using it, and I like the new changes on the scrollbar, thanks!
Great Theme! Just noticed that apps like Synaptic and gedit are not being themed and have the ugly default gnome theme.
Managed to sort this. Just needed to install to /usr/share/themes.
Nice theme :) Could you make one that that is darker? I am looking at this screen for quite a while so I have to use dark themes so I don't burn my eyes out
Very good theme, but one thing: I want a non-flat panel!! ;) I can't use a gtk theme with flat panel, please try to add it ;) Good work! Sergej
I'd love to see radio and checkboxes like in Elementary. Any chances for that kind of change? (:
When we can expect smooth taskbar background? Now it's... grey :)
Hi again! in 0.2 menubar items of panels (just like in the main menubar on the top left) are miscolored when active, namely gray instead of blue. Thanks for this wonderful theme!! :)
I have Murrine installed, but I can't see theme's controls. I see only ugly default controls. Others downloaded themes for Murrine work. Have any idea?
Make sure you have the latest Murrine Engine installed. I've posted a link above for DEB's but I havent found RMP's that are up-to-date enough.
I have 0.90-3, latest at this moment. This is strange: other themes work good. What about configuration of murrine? May be, special configuration is needed?
cleem im sorry the theme isnt working for you :-( I know 0.90.3 doesnt work in Ubuntu but an updated package (from 2010/02/10) does. If you run "metacity --replace" in the command line then change your theme back to the "Unified" theme do you see any errors outputted. It could give you a hint as to what could be wrong? If you see "gtkrc:110: error: unexpected identifier arrowstyle" in the output then your version of murrine isnt new enough.
I have this error: gtkrc:110: error: unexpected identifier `arrowstyle', expected character `}' But I have Murrine svn r174 and there is no newer version in svn available.
Forget it, they have switched to git...
You really should install the murrine engine from the "suraia" PPA (https://launchpad.net/~suraia/+archive/ppa). After that just log-out or restart for changes to take effect. Otherwise, it will show ugly default buttons.
