my volume icon, and my trash can both have a black background, check the screenshot here:

Hey. If you still have trouble with the trash- and volumeicon having black background color, you can correct easily: Right click the panel and go to preferences, check solid color and choose what you like(I'm guessing white), and your troubles are over.
This theme rocks!! The best I've seen so far, and I can't imagine anything exceeding this.

The only thing I've done is rotate of the folder icon which you can see on the screen.

Don't know what's going on. Quite a few things are coming up 'Not Found' for me, not just yours. The emerald theme is now d'loading but Emerald 2 is not 'Not Found'. Maybe it's something on my end.
Anyway, this is really a beautiful theme. You did a great job. Thx for sharing it!
