Description: Gelatin is a gnome theme which includes a GTK theme and a Metacity theme. I created this theme after I saw this [http://vdepizzol.wordpress.com/2008/01/02/gelatin/] mockup. The designer is Vinicius D.
The theme looks very good when combined with the Discovery Iconset (you can find it here: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Discovery+Icon+Theme?content=69950 ).
The download link below leads to my blog where you can download the latest version of the Gelatin theme.Last changelog:
31.01.08
-Added Emerald window decoration with smoother borders
-- You can see the newest changes in the second screenshot
I really really REALLY Like the screenshot BUT, I cannot download it. The download link takes me to a youtube video of a stupid cat in zero gravity.
Could you please be kind enough to tell me where can I download the actual theme.....
I will be grateful. Thankyou....
I don't like slim themes, could you make a non-slim version, because those buttons (gnome-panel menu) are just to goddamn small.
It's still a awesome theme..
great theme, i found that
is better with clearlooks borders and with mac icons
and can you put .png that we can you as background image for menu bar (if you know what i mean) and for diferent sizes, like 32 height
I think that's how the theme is supposed to look like. I believe there is currently no engine for feisty that can make the menubar look like the mock-up (1st) screenshot.
Kimmik can you confirm this?
If I'm wrong, I'd like to know what has to be installed in order to have the proper appearance because my desktop looks like risoto's screenshot.
1 more thing. My menu icons are small. What do I need to do in order to make them similar to the mock-up?
Hey risoto!
Can you do me a big favour?
Could you send me this theme. I cannot download it because the download link takes me to a youtube video of a cat in zero gravity....
Please help me I really need this theme. email it to me:

Honestly when I first saw the mockups for the Gelatin theme I was pretty skeptical, but using what you've created changed my mind, it's really pretty cool and DEFINITELY would be a vast improvement over the current ubuntu theme. (I can't help but wonder though if there's a way to eliminate the need for the pixmap engine. I guess on the menu items it'd be necessary, but certainly the scrollbars could be converted to a "real" theme, maybe the answer is for someone to write a svg theme engine...)
This looks quite nice... very consistent throughout. It integrates well with QT themes, as well. One thing I've noticed is that the rounded corners of the theme aren't as smooth as the corners of the mock-up, although I imagine you can't get the same anti-aliased look with Metacity.
Great job!

I like to have too, the same theme with blue color!
hi, i've just finished installing this distro and your (awesome) theme doesn't shows up correctly. What engine does Gelatin use? Thanks.
I have a problem with your GTK theme : http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/5194/captureoy3.png

An svg engine wouldn't make a big difference. The pixmap engine actually does the job pretty well, gtkperf gives acceptable results. :)

Yes, unfortunately Metacity doesn't display rounded borders very well. But I created an Emerald version today, which has nice borders.
Outstanding! Thanks!
