Is this really the best GTK 2.x on Gnome? I love the Aurora engine but this theme is mediocre at best. I suspect this user is not playing fair.
Then find it out. It might not be the best here, but I will never cheat, it's meaningless. And to be honest, the voting system is not good enough, although the admin did something, such as only the registered users are allowed to vote. Anyway, it's free, free to use, free to comment, free to vote. If you don't like it, vote it down, and leave a suggestion if you like.
I like this theme, except I'm not quite happy with the sliders and scrollbars. How would I make the slider handles bigger? Does Aurora also support clearlooks or oxygen like arrows?
Thank you! You may enlarge them by setting the values of: GtkScale::slider-length GtkScale::slider-width GtkRange::slider-width And you may notice that handles will appear on those sliders/scrollbars. As for arrows, however, they cannot be changed, unless you don't use aurora for the scrollbars.
Thanks! Does the engine support kind of alternative styles for sliders and scrollbars? Like circle sliders for example? Can handles be turned on or off like in Murrine? How can the scrollbar background be controlled? Although I like Murrine themes, Aurora seems to be something I like most. Except the absence of documentation. I'm new to gtkrc files though. I decided to ask you because you seem to know what you're doing.
Nope, handles only. And you cannot turn it on or off except exploiting those so called "bugs" - just like the way I did. As for the scrollbar bg, you may change the colors of bg[NORMAL], bg[ACTIVE] and bg[PRELIGHT].
Fantastic!zhuqin
I would really like to see that ! Cygoku
Well...that may not happen, since aurora is meant for gradient not "crystal". I've no idea whether ECHM would add such kind of feature. Anyway, gradient is good, isn't it?
We finally get a new year's update for aurora engine. It brings us some new features along with many bug fixes. As a result, this theme also needs a modification. It won't be long, I promise.
I love this theme. I was just wondering how i would go about getting a rounded scrollbar like in the Aurora Mini theme. http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Aurora+Mini?content=88489 And how i could remove the line under the toolbar. I am very much a noob at working with themes.
1. you'll have to install pixmap engine and mv scrollbar.png etc. to a certain dir, do some hacks to this gtkrc, it may take time. 2. try aurora smooth1 or choose other engines.
thanks for the quick reply. what about the line under the toolbar? is there a simple way to remove it? i am tryinig aurora smooth1 and it is still there.
See Note in my description. you need to patch your aurora engine.
I notice a line between the emerald window and the GTK theme, where it's transperant. It's barely noticable when the window is static, but it's really obvious when i move the window! Screenshot: http://img101.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bugjx8.png I know it's the emerald theme because it's still there when I change the GTK theme. What should I do?
You can try adjusting glow height via emerald-theme-manager, 24 might be suitable for your case.
i changed the window title font size to a smaller one. THat fixed the problem
An old problem, the new button in evolution looks weird
I know, it looks weird unless you choose aurora smooth1. It won't be fixed until someone kind enough to get aurora engine hacked.
猪亲,为了你,我注册了,Good job!
thanks for the new version are nice, exelent job, one question.... how can patch the menu-bar ??? please tell me
Thank you. Just extract aurora source and run patch -Np0 -i aurora.patch in your terminal, be careful of the path.
Only thing I expect more is the progress bar, which could be better if it's a little more like scrollbar, I mean such thin feeling instead of glossy one.
甘露同学?这个恐怕只能hack源代码了,或者你用其他的引擎。
good I like! but how can change the icons of the menu-toolbar (back, foward, etc.) more big??
