Description: This is my mockup for "ALI - KMenu replacement approach" (http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=25484)
1. Search Options: a. By Category (This will provide a dropdown list to select the Category) b. All (Default)
2. Search Results list box: List box should only display 5 entries at a time, and scrollable. Font Size: Heading 14, Description 11.
Initial View: a. If Search option is "By Category": All the available applications for the category will be displayed followd by Category Heading. b. If Search option is "All": All the available applications will be displayed followd by Category Headings.
Typing in the search box will filter the applications according to the critera.
3. Launch an application: Each entry in the application list box will have an arrow in fromt of them. Clicking on the arrow will launch the selected application and in the same time focus on the list box will move to the selected application, if it's not already.
4. Similar Applications If an application has the focus, similar applications will be displayed in this area. Initially 3 entries with more option.
3. Users Favourite Applications. Initially 5 entries with more option.
Man, this looks awesome. I like your colours, layout, the scrollbar, everything. I just wish this can become a reality.
Or better still if the whole kmenu could become skinable/theme-able, for those who wish to have different style kmenu's.
