The idea is good, but should to be extended to any (configurable) image editor (for example I use gimp and not kolourpaint).
Maybe the first time that "Edit" is pressed it could ask you for the editor you want to use.
this edit button is indeed far more usefull than the print button (does anybody have ever used it ??)
it could be better if one can choose which application is launched when the edit button is pressed (gimp, krita... No need to add things like opacity in a simple app like kolourpaint)
some time ago there has been a long discussion about this on a KDE developer mailinglist. some patches have been applied, but i'm not sure (can't check my mail here) what the outcome was. rest assured, thought has gone into ksnapshot for KDE 4...
