Hi, I installed the ebuild without any problems, but I am not able to start the kbfx module in kcontrol. Whenever I try to open it, kcontrol crashes... I could produce a backtrace here if you want me to. Any ideas?
# ebuild kbfx-0.4.8_r2.ebuild digest
!!! Name error in 0.4.8_r2
!!! Error: PF is null 'kbfx-0.4.8_r2'; exiting.
PS. I have the ebuild in the right place.
Thanks for your reply. I had to remove the first numbers in the ebuild name, then it digested beautifully.
Now I can access Kmenu->Kcontrol->Look and feel->kbfx applet, and add a button skin. That just gets ignored though......restarting X, or putting the filepath into "Button Skin", normal pixmap, hover pixmap, or pressed pixmap, does not help.....I still get the standard KDE blue Kmenu button. I'm trying to use the button at http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=27081
Sorry....I'm rather new at this ebuild stuff, but RTFMing hasn't helped. When I run;
tux kbfx # ebuild 32257-kbfx-0.4.8_rc2.ebuild digest
I get;
!!! Name error in 32257-kbfx-0.4.8_rc2: multiple version parts.
!!! Error: PF is null '32257-kbfx-0.4.8_rc2'; exiting.
tux kbfx #
What does that mean?

you have to rename it to kbfx-0.4.8-rc2
the correct name is kbfx-0.4.8_rc2.ebuild, then command ebuild kbfx-0.4.8_rc2.ebuild digest go through without fault
I have no idea. You could ask the kbfx developers themselves as I am not one. Sorry.

Yeah, thanks for point out my mistake.
I guess that should be: echo "kde-misc/kbfx ~x86" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords.

You need to right click on the taskbar, then select Add Applet to Panel, then select kbfxvista. It should replace your kmenu.

Did you put the ebuild in the correct place in your portage overlay?

Where did you find the wallpaper? The render of the Gentoo logo is Great. If you created it would you mind putting it up on this site?
thanks for the ebuild!
