Description: 1. In the wallpaper slide show settings window, it would be nice to have previews of the pictures selected for the slide show so it's easy to remove any you don't want anymore or to see if there are some you haven't added.
2. Maybe an option to monitor a directory for new wallpapers and automatically add them to the slide show.
3. I don't know if this is possible right now or if it needs the composite extension, but it would be awesome if wallpapers could fade into each other like they do on Mac OS X tiger.
4. Just noticed this, I think it's a bug, but for some reason some images in that window show up as just the file name and some as the full path name.
Currently, you may include folders instead of figures; that is a solution for your second point.
I would include a 5th point, that those folders could be scanned recursively.
Great 3rd point: first time I saw that on OS X, I got amazed.
I want also note that some application GUIs (Firefox for example) simply FREEZE for some painfull seconds everytime a background changes. Hopefully there's someone fixing and improving this stuff for KDE4. Why not move this topic to KDE4 Brainstorm?
I had this exact same idea about 2 weeks ago and I could have sworn I reported a wishlist for it but apparently not!
This does need reported and when it is I'll definitely vote for it!

I very much need this type of functionality. Does it currently do this?

about your third point, xscreensaver do it with the module named Slideshow (GL) in screensavers list (it appears in 'kcmshell screensaver').
I'm not sure if I understand you right, but I'm talking about the desktop wallpaper and not a screensaver.
they should just add support for the kipi plugin that can do slideshows. it uses opengl for the transitions, looks great.

Hopefully, a KDE 4 dev is watching.... :-)
