I love this idea and used it from time to time.
Since i can't code, I encourage you to keep working on it and improve it.
I think it adds alot eyecandy and it's far more easy to grab than the K icon.
Some fixes for it not to crash and let the user choose the button width, and you have a killer applet (at least to mi mind).
Keep working on it please !
it dosent seem to be working for me, from what I can see it's not generating the executable. It configures and makes fine, but it dosent produce an executable and the kgo.desktop file it produces dosent have a target to execute.
I've read, and tried everything in the INSTALL file, but nothing. I'm running kde 3.2.2 if that helps.
Anyone know of a solution?
Yeah, you might want to reconsider the name... In Spanish, K is pronounced 'kah' (rhymes with 'saw') and 'go' would be pronounced just as it is in english. The thing is the spanish "cagó" means he/she/it took a crap.
masho... :) desde cuándo suena igual que "saw" (/'so/) en inglés? Esque lo pronuncias "cogo"? ;) Así aprenden de mal nuestro idioma los ingleses después.
I don't think so...
I mean ok left clicking the clock will pop up a kde menu
what about right clicking the clock?
should there be a clock-wise menu or kde-wise? both?
yuck
Overall, this is a good idea. There are however some little things that prevent me from using it everyday :
* The left handle should be hidden
* The height of the button does not scale when kicker is in size "normal", "large" or "small" (I use it in size Normal)
* The menu appears where the click event occurs, and is not aligned to the left of the button (not like the original K button)
* There should be a dialog for changing the text on the button (missing preference dialog) or disabling it entirely (thus having the usual K button look and feel).
In your .ui form (using designer?), select the main widget itself, and in the properties disable the resize handle if you don't want your dialog to resize.
The widgets should also be layouted in a grid (right-click on the form and choose "layout in a grid") because they don't appear/resize properly here.
You could also make your pref dialog more easily, with standard buttons ok, apply and cancel, by using kconfigxt (requires kde 3.2) - check "soli" or http://freehackers.org/~tnagy/totry.tar.bz2

If you are using transparent kicker (3.2) it leaves a blue field around it. Second is a question..... is there a way to change the image? Thanks
For Spanish talking users,... It has a very funny name :D

Sé perfectamente lo que significa, de hecho esa fue la idea del nombre ;)

i really like this applet, i'll just wait for stable version cause this one ccrashes too much .
I like the app, except it crashes when KDE starts.
Same for me - sad, but true... :-(
I'd rather like to see the clock as the kde-menu button. The space it uses is kinda wastet... why not make it a button?

Thans for your post I'll keep your suggestions in mind Cheers!
"old and ugly" ? lol, come on, don't be funny.
Full ACK! ...but this don't mean that your app is bad. I will test it and then post my impression ;-).
