Hi, I try for the first time to install a new theme, and i chose Alphacube. Is there a place where i can have explications for the installation? What should i do within this folder ? Thanks a lot.

Could you improve the look of the '?' button, please? It looks totally different than the others. And add the other buttons like 'stay on top'.

Hey, when I run the configure routine I get the message:

checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!

What do I have to install/add/do to make this work? Alphacube is the prettiest theme here and I'd very much like to use it! :) Philip.

You need Xorg devel packages, if you are running rpm-based distro. Make sure you have KDE devel packages too.

Hello there, I've created a package for Ubuntu and saw that you hadn't mentioned your name on README, am I right? So if you're a developer or contributer of this decoration could you please add your copyright line into the source package. In case you want it included into Ubuntu's package's copyright file. Thanks.

tpr

Oh, and it would be nice if you could add 0.3 changes into readme too. And use README instead of readme, to follow the common naming style.

mobtek

Great dec, can we please have an option to make the titlebar thicker or thinner? cheers mob

john007

Sorry, can't offer that option...

Hi, I have noticed a problem when i set theme color for this windec to "Use the theme default's color settings". The problem consists that when I restart the kde session this option return to value: "Use KDE's color settings". Bye and congratulations for the windec theme. Excuse me for my bad english.

john007

This is a known problem of Decgen...

agentdunken

Ahh thanks. Hmm wonder if you can make it have a black background or be able to make its colors be off the person theme...

Superstoned

yeah, john, i would like to ask this too... and again, maybe (if not, its ok, just say) i'd love to see the sources to try and change stuff... never done that before, but i would like to try it and this is a nice windec so i have a good startingpoint ;-) please?

agentdunken

Ok I installed it from source but how did I use it? I look in the Win Dec but I don't see it?

john007

How did you install it? Try ./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix` (this is the crucial step...) make and finally as su make install Then you'll find it in the usual place...

Superstoned

i'd love to see a 'always on top' button, too, for this windec... please?

janet

Yes, it's a pity it doesn't support all buttons. I really miss the "sticky" button - and the help button is a little bit neglected, doesn't get this nice surrounding the other buttons have :(

john007

I'm looking into that...

Superstoned

thanx! and maybe, maybe you could send me the source for this windec? i'd like to try and hack on it (would be my first, so i don't expect anything from it, but maybe, maybe i'm able to send you a little patch now and then ;-))

Superstoned

but i still have some comments ;-) here comes: the coloring. i'd like to choose my own colors (i like a blueish look) but that's very hard - can't you seperate the coloring of the buttons from the windec itself? second, there seems to be an artifact, 1 pixel (yeah i notice) just within the thin line surrounding the windows. maybe it is only possible to see it if you look closely, but it is there. third, the botom of the window has a problem: the thin line going around the window doesn't continue here, there is a gap. last, in the original screenshot the glowing effect is cool. better than the gradient in this windec... can you reproduce the look of the original windec for gnome? i hope you can fix these. great work, by the way, and i'd love to see the sources (i'd like to try and change stuff, 'course i'll send you the changes).

maitre

I noticed the .deps and .libs directories within your tree - re-run configure and make distclean - apparently you're on a x86 platform? kwin/config/.libs/kwin_Alphacube_config.so kwin/config/.libs/kwin_Alphacube_config.so: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), not stripped After the make distclean, check to make sure the .libs and .deps directories are gone, then you can repost the tarball.

penguinzdravko

I get an error during compiling: http://pastebin.com/454117 What should I do?

maitre

Missing libraries probably. Not sure what distribution you're using, but installing kdebase-devel on rpm-based distributions (SuSE, Mandriva, Fedora, etc.) will get the development libraries you're missing. HTH.

tosta

Please, fix the border and titlebar to follow color schema settings. It's show gray when I use dark color schemas. I take a shot of this behavior: http://www.tosta.com.br/single-cd/deepplastik.png

john007

The original border is gray, I left it as it was. With the titlebar colours you can play around. Just experiment... Again, default is the original colour PS: Can't look at your screenie. Is your server down?
