I got it installed (on Xandros 4x) but it didn't give me the rectangular start button and all of the icons in the system aren't replaced. For example, in the Linux equivalent of Windows Taskbar, it still has all the old Linux icons, among other things.
I'd like it to be a 'total' 9x skin, so it looks as close to 9x as possible.
Yes, it is the M$ dream, a stable Kernel with a windows look front end. The new Micro$oft Vista II?
How did you manage to get the rectangular start button in this theme? Is it possible to do it for other themes?
I take it that that is the reall kicker in the screenshots and not a karamba theme. If it is the real kicker and you did manage to get a rectangular start button can you please tell me how!
Thanks
wouldnt it be nice if it worked for kde 3.2.x. Spealeo or whatever your name is learn to make them work with the version u say they work for.. There is no theme manager in kde 3.2.x.. So you cant install the theme.. Then when you go to install the style part you cant because of permissions so u su to root then you try to install and command not found...
if you want to see BSOD`s you can set your screensaver to BSOD and in the setup dialog uncheck everything except Windows 9x, Windows 3.11, and Windows NT.
I agree its definitely about choice. Don't let people get you down speleoalex, hopefully you didn't even bother to read the comments, they're hardly ever worth it.

Boy the fonts on Windows suck! Look at those crappy fonts. Linux looks so much more soothing and clear!
You have to remove the upward arrowheads in the kicker ;) Oh... does it come with built in crash and BSOD emulator??

again, the link is not broken. you simply need to copy and paste the link location to get it to work.
here is the good link for this theme : http://www.speleoalex.altervista.org/download/kde_xp_full.tar.bz2
Both links are broken.
kde_xp (windows xp): http://www.speleoalex.altervista.org/download/kde_xp_full.tar.gz splx98 (windows 9x): http://www.speleoalex.altervista.org/download/splx98.tar.gz
it gives you kdemoreartwork-splx98-0.1-2mdk.src.rpm
Can you make one for 3.1? Thanks, looks promising.

I think it's amazing how linux could imitate other systems. the linux desktop is the most adaptable desktop I ever saw. keep on your good work!
Maybe it's nice to fool some friend... have to try it one day...

I think its perfect for linux-beginners. stay on!!
maybe good for windows-beginner who want to switch to linux? Well, I'll never use this, Windows is ugly.
Agreed. The Windows 2k/98 interface is BLAND and boooooring. Why not spend time, effort and energy on something original. *shrug*
If you don't get it, you don't get Linux... It's about choice
Gotta say that I do NOT understand this at all. Why go the trouble of making Linux look like Windows? Vive la difference!
I can't spell look properly! doh!
