NanoTeK - KBFX Installation

I. Requirement

This theme requires the silk version of KBFX you can find here http://www.kbfx.org/

II. Installation

1. Open the KBFX Configurator Application

2. "Themes" -> Push "Install Theme" and select NanoTeK.tar.gz

3 In Order to make the theme look like in the screenshot you have to replace some of the icon by a transparent png file. You can do this using the Menu Editor "kmenuedit"

4. Just apply then and enjoy

5. Set the taskbar background to Taskbar/Kicker.png in Kcontrol > Desktop > Pannels > Appearance tab > check "Use background image" and set it to the Kicker.png

6. Tell me if you see anything strange or bugs

Feel free to change the fonts as you prefer them. I'm running linux on 1024 x 768 resolution, so it may be hard to read on higher resolution, so just open the KBFX configurator application, and then change the fonts
Last changelog:

13/10/2007 : First Release

06/11/2007 : Rewrote the theme from scratch, this is a completly new one

Don't misunderstand me, I like a lot the idea of an hi-tec theme that's actually missing in kde, but those fonts are really too little, unreadable even at 1280x1024 (I doubt that this may be useable at all at 1600x1200 or above resolutions)

You're sure right and I really appreciate comments. The point is that I'm using a 1024x768 screen resolution, so I didn't though it would be so unreadable on higher screen resolution. You can change the police by going into the KBFX configurator application and to the fonts tab. There change to a font like "dingbat" or "freesans" they're really smooth, and you can put the size of the font to 9 or 10 I think. It's actually helvetica 8, well that's what it should be, with the theme manager applied. Hope it's gonna help you :)

KBFX Startmenu

KBFX is an alternative startmenu for KDE 3.2+. It improves users' experience by replacing the Win95-like K-Logo button and menu with a larger and thus more visible start button and menu. Wikipedia
