about the widget. . .I don't really like it all too much, but I guess that's just me. Like it was said, I'm not a federal marshal or someone else who needs to know.

ton1

....I hope this is a joke

Galion

I saw some of the people comments here, and LIGHTEN UP PEOPLE!! its funny... not a political state!

BorgQueen

Agreed.

rgfree

You might take it as funny and in a way it is - in many other ways it isnt if you look at what this country (i.e. voters like him) does and has already done to real world politics. Look at his homepage + "About Me". If this is all meant to be a joke I just dont get it. It's rather sad such people exist, I'm afraid.

sgrayban

Its a good feature I think. Never know when another attack could happen with those sneaky turbin heads running around in the US.

musawilliams

educated comment. Wonder when the inbreds will stop using the term "turbin head" or "raghead"

SouthernCross79

And I wonder when hypocritical liberals such as yourself will stop using the term "inbreds." :D **** you. . .why don't you move to Singapore (or one of the many countries) where people are jailed for exercising their views if you feel you have a divine right to not be offended? Oh wait, what am I saying? This is the Internet. You're probably there. ;) Now that I'm done calling you on your BS, I'll wish you a happy and fun time at Woodstock 2006!

feendster

Nice!:) Thanx, Feend

Hi, guys! I think that this Karamba Theme is really, really funny... It's a good idea to have a laugh about war on terrorism, isn't It? But... Ehy! Take a look!... It's like WarGames Screenshot!!! :D Ciauz, .h!

pastaustin

YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY A TERRORIST! DON'T KILL ME!

soulrebel

hey i really like the concept, but i just thought of MUCH BETTER PICS TO SHOW: US Government is... green: ...making up 'facts' to fool its own people orange: ...preparing a new war red: ...at war with a country the good thing: you could even start a new one for every country, and get loads of flashy karamba themes on your desktop, all moving from green to red... of course after a while you'd have to get more and more virtual desktops to store all those themes, but luckily kde gives you about twenty, which should provide you with enough space, at least for the next century(providing your screen resolution is somewhat decent)! oh and maybe for the extra-fun: you can make an extra wolrd-freedom-democracy-and-peace-theme, that starts out red and gets greener the more war-themes you have (after all things are getting securer, right?). of course, if you dont get a new war-theme at least once every 6 months, it should definitely get redder again....

victor73

I never thought I would live to see a german criticizing another country of starting too many wars... But, you are entitled to your opinion...

soulrebel

another very nationalistic mind-set you have there. i suppose you can explain, how I am responsible for germany's wars or why i should not voice my opinion on american foreign policies. let me word your statement differently, i have difficulty understaning it (and please correct me if you intended it differently): a person, born in a certain area, may not speak up against crimes, commited by someone from a different area, if people from his area commited similar crimes in history? SENSE!? oh and btw. thank you for allowing me an opinion of my own.

victor73

Read my reply again please. I was simply making an observation on the irony of your post. Perhaps it's a concept that's lost on you. You don't bear any personal responsibility for the past, but your country bears a collective responsibilty. Do you understand that one of the reasons you may express your opinions is due, in fact, to the same country you criticize so harshly? Why do you attack this theme? Because you disagree with the politics of the government that created the system behind it? Fine. For me, enough have downloaded this theme to justify its existence. In addition, it's not a "war-theme" as you implied in your original post, so allow me to point you to "kTerrorSpoof". I think you'll like it more...

soulrebel

first of all, excuse me, i think the tone, got a little harsh in the last posts. about resonsibility of nations, i do not think in terms of nations. to me the concept of drawing a line on a map, and defining people on one side to be like this and to differ from others in one or another way, is absolutely non-sense. please explain to me, in what manner i am responsible for nazi germany, do you see yourself as responsible (nationally responsible!?) for slave-trade, do you feel like you should say sorry to someone? concerning the terror alert signs, you are right they themselves are not pro war, but they are one of many instruments used by the current us administration to instigate fear(and your dstribution of this tool, supports it - if you chose to do this conscious of this fact, it does make your partly responsible), which then is used as a major instrument in gaining support for wars. and seriously does it make ANY differnece whatsoever to bill hick in preston county, west virginia whether your tool says yellow or red? does it make a difference to you?

victor73

You bring up a valid point about labeling people a certain way if they happen to be from a certain country. I agree with you on that. Nevertheless, nations have done some despicable things in history. To answer your question about slavery, I don't personally assume any responsibility, but I (and I think I speak for most Americans) feel that we have a collective responsibilty for it, which we try to address with various initiatives (a subject of much controversy here). The point I wish to make is that this theme is harmless. Even if you disagree with the alert system, the theme can be used to point out how stupid it is, if you wish (it hasn't changed from elevated since I've authored it). However, it may be useful to local law enforcement agencies, Customs, Coast Guard, journalists, red cross workers, FEMA, hospitals, security firms, etc etc... The alert system was created mainly to alert goverment agencies that have a role to play when the level changes and to coordinate actions. They have certain procedures to follow... But even for the home user in West Virginia, surely having access to information, even information you think is bad, or stupid, can never be bad... The system is in place. What's wrong with a theme to display the current status for those who are interested? For those who are not, well, ignore it! To get rid of the system entirely, vote and appeal to your elected officials. The minute it is removed, this theme becomes irrelevant doesn't it?

DaBlade

Paranoia. That's all there is to it. No need for stuff like this IMNSHO.

victor73

I see. So, since you have no need, nobody has any need. Right?

CsorbaGomba

Hoi! I think there is 5 level of this You missed the yellow 'Elevated' and the orange 'High'

victor73

The website only allows 3 images to be uploaded. So I uploaded the severe, guarded, and low ones...

nuka

why low? we all know it will never be that.

icarusmb

Can you do a modded version that says 'Risk of Government attack' instead? It would make much more sense.

opjose

Your parody of this was funny and made a point. I don't know why it was deleted. It should not have been. But calling THIS crap would make everything else for Karamba/Superkaramba the same simply because you deem it so.

Linuster

I posted crap like this to make a point but then it was deleted.
