Description: This Panel is for using your Scanner and Printer to make copys or scans by one click. You can also make a Scan and attach it to an Email.
The "scannen" button makes a scan and place the scanfile as JPEG on your Desktop. The File is named date-time.jpeg.
The "kopieren" Button makes a scan and sends the scanfile to your default-Printer (grayscale)
The "Email" Button makes a scan and places the scanfile as JPEG on your Desktop. The File is named date-time.jpeg. Then it opens the compose-window of your Emailclient (Icedove) with the scanfile included in the attachment.
This version is optimized for Debian. If you want to use it for other Distributions, you have to edit the shell-scripts in the scripts Folder. For Example: change from Icedove to Thunderbird or Evolution as your Email-Client.
You can also edit this scripts for changing scan-resolution, color-mode or scan-size.
Some scanimage-options are different for some Scanner-models. You have to find out the right options for your scanner and edit the scripts to fit to your scanner.
You can do this by make: scanimage -L to list your scanner-device In my case the output is: device `niash:libusb:001:003' is a Hewlett-Packard ScanJet 4300C flatbed scanner
To list the options for your scanner you have to do a: scanimage --help --device-name niash:libusb:001:003
replace "niash:libusb:001:003" with the name off your scanner from the output above.
Be careful with these options, in worst case, it can break your scanner.
The Icons on this panel comes from the crystal icon-theme
Changelog:
v1.1: I have changed the Path of the scripts to ~/Scanpanel/scripts so you have to put the Scanpanelfolder to your Homefolder or edit the Path. I also changed the outputpath of the Email-Button to /tmp because this place will be cleaned at every boot (at least Dabian do so), so you don't have to delete any scanfiles after each Mail-Action.
