Description: This is my first attempt at a self configured theme for Karamba (SuperKaramba). I designed it as a laptop theme because it is designed first for the most common laptop dimensions (1024x76 and second by the fact that it gives battery status. (Nothing like have your comp shutoff in the middle of a.....*grin*) Please let me know by comment or vote what you think and if it's good. I hope you enjoy it.
Thanks go out to the creator of the marbles icon theme for the icons and the marbles construction kit. As well as Everaldo for the little tux icon. I'd also like to thank Zane for supply some output and testing so I could make it read the battery status on ACPI enabled laptops.
Please read the README file for info on how to enable ACPI.Last changelog:
- 0.2 Fixed error in background image. Added calendar feature when you click on the year and added the ability to adjust time and date by clicking on the time. Also did a code cleanup so that it's a bit tidier.
- 0.3 Added some python to it. Opbar now automatically detects 1-8 desktops and then displays the correct number of icons accordingly. Also added an icon for kmail to the product.
- 0.4 Again with the graphics improvement! Ok since I'm having so much fun getting drag and drop working right I've adjusted the .theme file so that you can change the icon there. The method to the madness should be pretty straight forward. Also changed the graph bars visually. Added a graph for battery level. Added a visual scale next to the graph bars for a quick glance type of visual affect. Changed the icon for launching the menu to a penguin. Also clicking anywhere on the battery graph bar will put the box to "sleep" via the command apm -s.
0.5. ACPI Works! Modified the theme so it can be used either way (See the readme file.)
TODO - Add the ability to add and remove icons Add the ability to detect and use icon "themes."
PLEASE let me know if you have problems with this. I'm in a learning mode and your feedback helps. Thanks all
i like it very much too, but it seems very big, it consumes a lot of space on a 1024x786. what about making a version that is a little 'slimmer'?
btw: the second wallpaper is ncool, where'd you get it?
nightwriter,
can you help me change from APM to ACPI for the battery and temp info? I have changed the battstat script to get info from acpi, but I have had problems getting it to display. The changed script runs properly from a terminal window.
Zane
Sure.. send the ouptut of acpi -b from your box plus what you have as a mod to battstat to the e-mail in my README file. I'd love to include a battsat for acpi. Thanks.
Sure would. I'd love to get it working for ACPI as well myself. Send me the output of acpi -b (I believe this is the right command) and what you've done ... or post it here. My e-mail is james at dnull.com
ROTFLMA
Great I'm waiting for a critique and the first one.... a request for the wallpaper. (Note I've a big grin while saying this.) OK...
http://www.sadeem.net/tux.html
is the site... note that he/she has done their entire site in flash. So you'll need the plugin.

I created a slim version of the theme called dietOpBar. It's at http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=8594 If you're intrested. Sorry it took so long but I've been away for a few days.
