eye.on
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
try out to find about it's functions and have fun ;-)
it's tested with superkaramba 0.27 on a RH 9.0 box
see the included README for details
1.1.6 - eye.on.theme: added a PopUpMenu (the little blue arrow under the drivesymbol) for choosing the drive to be displayed
- eye.on-xmms.theme: added a volumecontrol to use with wheelmouse or by clicking; bar to display volume level included
1.1.5 - whole thing speeded up by using the new superkaramba API createBackgroundImage(), thanx for this great improvement
- eye.on.theme: changed the current-desktop-pictures
theme now supports filesystems like vfat, ntfs, smbfs
- eye.on-calls.theme: shows if an "icon-app" is running by a little arrow
- *.conf files: ability to add comments with "#" , ignores empty spaces " " now
1.1.4 - added two buttons for faster scolling through the playlist by mouse-clicks to eyeon-xmms.theme
- added a kmenu-button to eyeon-calls.theme
1.1.3 - added a kind of taskbar which looks for its right position itself
- eyeon-xmms.theme now shows the current title in a sliding manner like original xmms does
- eye.on.theme shows the current desktop by highlightening
- cleaned up some of the code (there is still a mess left)

hi, first i'd like to say that your theme is great!! By the way where did you get the wallpaper on your screenshot?
I had a question regarding the xmmctrl thing, I downloaded it but theres no install neccessary, what do i do to get the xmms feature to work properly?
These theme looks great. It might be neat to add a weather box to the meters menu. Thank you for your hardwork. I really like it.
hm - i'm not very interested into weather because i spend my time at home doing this eye.on thing (this is meant to be a joke) i like the liquid-weather theme very much (to be found here in the karamba section) and with its nice artwork its a jewel on every desktop... if there is a real interest to integrate a weather-forcast into eye.on-theme perhaps someone would like to cooperate to make this happen ?
I just have a suggestion for the meters theme. I really like all these themes, but I would suggest that the switching desktop icons belongs on the launch-pad/taskbar tab. It seems that every other thing on the meter bar is for information viewing only, and this is for switching desktops (ie. interaction with the user), therefore is a little inconsistent. Just a usability thought :). Looks great though, thanks for making this great theme. K-man
well - answering the question "where am i ?" seems to be an important kind of information to me...harhar btw. this widget is more functional than just watching it ;-)
I like this one, I like it a lot, but I would like the eye-on theme sideways, is there any easy way of doing this ? By sideways I mean: cpu - men - disk insteead of: cpu mem disk Hope some of you understand :)
i think what u mean is a widget moving vertical instead of horizontal - like the newsreader in the first release ? i was thinking about that, but decided to make it as it is to make the themes fitting together. they are horizontal because of the amounts of text in the xmms-control and the news-reader - which fits much better to a 1024x768 screen resolution. anyway - thanx for your suggestion :-)
ok this is what i get when i start this theme (which btw looks nice, but i have no use of the xmms module for it, can you make it selectable?): Traceback (most recent call last): File "eyeon.py", line 207, in widgetUpdated karamba.deleteText(widget, now) NameError: global name 'now' is not defined Call to widgetUpdated failed doing heavy refresh now if you go and edit the eyeon.py file an go to that line indeed there is not "global now" if you fix that it starts complaining about cpu, mem, mech, etc. I had to copy paste the stuff from about 50 lines above this to 207 and it works almost. Once you add the last thing the whole prog crashes the moment you go over it, but at least it looks like it should.
oh yeah i am using the latest superkaramba. One mor ething the clock works but al the numbers overlap each other (probably because of the not being able to refresh problem fromabove).
hm - i didn't saw this behaviour on a redhat 9.0 box with python 2.2.2 running. maybe it's because of different python-versions ? anyone else saw this behaviour ? if you wan't this theme more modular than set the well known # to the following lines in eyeon.theme... #theme path=eyeon-xmms.theme #theme path=eyeon-news.theme after doing so one have to start the other themes by right mouse-click on the theme's widget... btw - anyone who knows how to call themes from a python script without starting another instance of superkaramba ? thanx
this should be fixed in release 1.1.2
This theme is hands down the best and most innovative karamba theme I have ever seen. Keep up witht the great work. Kudos-- --ZennouRyuu
Whenever I run a python script there comes this message: file "eyeonmozilla.py", line 3, in ? import karamba ImportError: No module named karamba I've installed superkaramba 26, but it also doesn't work with other versions. What I am doing wrong. Please help, because your theme semms really nice. Thanks
i really don't no where this message depends on - perhaps it's a missinstallation of superkaramba - perhaps you should ask the developers of karamba ?
rdf is not running for me. because firewall ? nico
perhaps you have to make the .pl executable ?
arrg...and i forgot...in the newsthemes you have to give them the fully qualified path to readrdf.pl, somethin' like /home/ramone/.superkaramba/eye.on/spript/readrdf.pl.. should realy add a readme to the next realese..gg
I tried all those superkaramba themes. They are all nice but this is the first one I'm still using... This is absolutely fantastic! One suggestion: Maybe you could make the xmms widget a bit sharper (there are some rough edges).
This is great stuff. Thanks
This is great! Thanks for your contribute. I like it !
Dude, you have a very sharp looking desktop. If I had the time I would set up my system similiar to yours. What we need is for some distros to come out with karamaba pre-configured for those of us that spend more time working with our systems than setting it up. Are you using RH 9.0?
thanx and yes - this theme is running on a rh 9.0 box.
