Well... some corrections done. It works in general
Just download it, read the comments and help to make it better.

This theme displays a little bar with the news moving INSIDE it, from right to left, just like on stock exchange (???)

The script consumes A LOT of CPU and this is the main problem to be solved.
Right now the best idea is to run this script in another instance of superkaramba.
Last changelog:

V. 0.2:
A "little" graphics - just the background.
It works quite well, but remember to run this as separate SK instance, not to "hold" other themes.

V. 0.1:
Initial release.
No graphics. Just the meat.

i'm just getting a black bar and when i read your script i noticed a reference to an oo.pl script, and i looked for that, and i don't have it...or what else could it be? I also get this: File "/home/stormy/kde/pl_news_bar/news_bar.py", line 11, in ? import os ImportError: No module named os ------------------------------------------------------ What does ImportError mean? It means that I couldn't load a python add-on for news_bar.theme If this is a regular theme and doesn't use python extensions, then nothing is wrong. ------------------------------------------------------
