Light 'n Crisp
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
Almost every part visible in the screenshots has it's own configurationfile:
* There are 2 available XMMS-toolbars. One full-width and another, more compact one (as can be seen in the screenshots).
* The right sidebar simply contains a bunch of icons (also clearly not my work), BUT it's also possible to turn it into a weathertracker (see last screenshot). Necessairy instructions and images are all included in the theme. Finding a weatherscript and getting it to work is your job.
* About the newstrackers, from left to right:
Register.com, Bartendavid.be (my own site, Dutch), Slashdot.org.
* The main bar contains various system-stats and a POP-mailchecker + create new mail icon (Kmail).
Scripts
-------
Mailchecker and RDF-convert perlscripts are included, though I take no credit for them as they were downloaded from the first official Karamba-homepage.
Requirements
------------
Every configfile can ofcourse be easily customized, all of it runs great on Karamba 0.17 (and probably higher too).
Karamba does eat up some CPU-power, but not more than 1 or 2%, peanuts on modern desktop systems. However: slowdown or some lagging may occur in games like Quake 3 Arena, so prepare to shut down Karamba before running such CPU-intensive applications/games.
KDE-theme
---------
Here's some information on the KDE-theme seen on the included screenshot:
* Style = Light Style, 3rd Revision
* Icons = Conectiva Crystal 0.8
* Color = SSSSlik! (custom made, download from http://users.skynet.be/bartvanhove/pub/sssslik.kcsrc and place in /home/user/.kde/share/apps/kdisplay/color-schemes)
* Kickerheight = 30 = Small

I did not create it, I changed the colour. The original can be found on http://www.customize.org/details/25475

i would also like this background. you should submit it or send it to me. aaaaa1662@hotmail.com
never mind i found it by clicking through all the wallpapers on kde-look. for anyone else the link to the background is here > http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=6783 < i do have another question though, how can i change the theme to open mozilla when i click on the email icon at the top of the screen. thanks, ill try a few things and let you know if i figure it out.
I've downloaded this theme but my top bar doesn't look like the screen shots. Is there something I'm missing?

The font is probably tiny because you haven't installed the required one yet. I'm not familiar with the Python errors, but I do know I'm not (that I know of) using any Python extensions, so it should load fine I suppose? I've never used Superkaramba, I designed LNC for Karamba 0.17 and it worked fine when I used it (I'm using XD2 at the moment so no further development on this theme is planned for the time being).
The main bar will load up and looks pretty good (except the text is tiny, but I haven't played with it). However, it gives me errors on whatever I load up (Something about Python and not having to worry if it's just a theme without needing Python extensions). It gives me this error on all of them, and the xmms and the sidebars don't load up (at least not visibally) at all. I am using Superkaramba 0.33
The news dont work here, why?
You're probably missing some Perl-modules, install them with CPAN. You can check wich ones you need by looking at the top of the perlscripts included in my tarball, their dependencies will be taken care of by CPAN. Also: if your provider requires you to fill in a proxy to surf the web, you must also add it in the perl-script, they need it too.
It would be really great if you can implement icon zooming on the sidebar, excellent work man.
I myself don't use this effect, but it doesn't seem hard for somebody that uses the Mac OSX bar (or what is it called?) to align it to the right and add zooming icons to his liking...
these tools are really nice! unfortunately the news tickers and the xmms-tools don't want to work, but my main question is: how can i run xmms without having it in the taskbar? or is it simply on another one on your screenshots?
My question exactly, if you ever find out, let me know! My setup indeed uses multi-desktoping as a workaround...
Great job of mixing styles. You can see a hint of the aqua style with your icons, but the rest of it is flat out original. Good Job. If Linux had a look, I would say it looks like linux.
I am happy to see the side bar background as a look like glass. I mean absolute transparent. If you take a look at the screen shot of Soft Liquid blue you will understand my requirements.... Any, way simply super... Regards,
You mean this? http://www.kde-look.org/content/preview.php?file=6814-2.png
http://themes.kde.org/content/preview.php?file=6814-1.png This picture give good impression on what is expected. You, also see the weather theme. BG is transparent but it is still visible as BG and also you will see an another BG laid over the transparent BG. If, your side bar BG looks something like that and place the icons over that then I fell it will look really nice... Hope you understand me better. Regards,
Can, I get the transperant side bar background. Or is it possible to make myself transperant if so please explain how or post it to satisfy the needs... Regards,
along the same lines, how did you change the color of your kicker bar?
The kicker bar follows the same color-sheme everything in KDE uses. I've even uploaded mine on request, it's mentioned in the README/Description and is named SSSSlik!
You already have the transparant sidebar background, it's alpha blended at 75%. Also, I've just added a 50% transparant version in LNC 0.4, check out instructions in sidebar.theme!
Where to I put those fonts after extracting? do I need to do something to those before putting them somewhere?
Install them with the KDE Font installer kcontrol > System Administration > Font Installer
