Thanks to strunzel and fce for their theme and wallpaper.
Both of the download links for this theme are broken... I used to run this theme all the time, but the HD on my laptop died, so I lost it. Can anyone mirror this theme if they have it?
I downloaded the notext version and pondered how to install it. I read your post and downloaded the kdmtheme program and compiled it successfully. I then ran that program and chose your theme. This placed your theme in the list. I then selected your theme. Figuring I was done I rebooted to try it out and had no luck. I have that horrendous looking Fedora Core login prompt still.
Does your theme or do these types of themes not work in FC3? Is redhat pulling a fast one by forcing us to read their company name thus ensuring product recognition?
I'm using Debian. I don't know about RedHat :(
But, I don't think it's a RedHat problem. You can use FC3 binary (http://www.kde-apps.org/content/download.php?content=22120&id=2).
This is about my config, I think it can help you:
$ cat /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc | grep Theme
Theme=/usr/share/apps/kdm/themes/LastSpring
Themes=/usr/share/apps/kdm/themes/LastWinter,/usr/share/apps/kdm/themes/gnu-linux,/usr/share/apps/kdm/themes/LastSpring,/usr/share/apps/kdm/themes/LastSpring_notext
UseTheme=true
Really you don't need install kdmtheme it's only a config tool. You can change your theme extracting the theme files anywhere and edit your kdmrc file.
May be kdmrc file had an other location in your system. For more questions ask to kdmtheme post. I'm only the debian kdmtheme packager I don't develop it ;-)
Good Luck!
I get the following error trying to install:
Couldn't load the themes configuration file
(translated from danish so the english wording may be different)
mmm
How are you installing the theme?
I'm using this app http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=22120
What theme are you installing(normal/no_text/both)?
If you want to get the theme in danish please sendme the translation of: Sessions, Menu, You have got capslock on! and Ops! It's not correct...
;-)
My pleasure! Thx for your theme too. One disagreement I have to mention here: the really really ooommmnnnniiipresent label in the picture - is it necessary? Do you have to remind you or people looking over your shoulder, that you are using Linux, even GNU/Linux? I ask you this because I don't see any artistic value by adding this label for the whole appearance of the theme other than loosing the "close touch" to the picture. Plz, don't get me wrong, of course you are free to do as you wish ;)
