Description: This item is a part of Steam-Powered Linux KDE theme set.
The idea is to apply steampunk style to every themeable part of KDE-based distro. Any constructive feedback is highly appreciated. I will try to implement your propositions/fix bugs once I have spare time.
I download the skin. And its in tar.gz format. And im using Linux Mint 14 Nadia. And I installed yakuake on it. But From Configure Yakuake>>Appearence when i select the Extracted file Steampunk it shows no file available. How to install this skin . Sorry im newbie in this Themeing Yakuake
Hi. I tried your installation instructions "Configure Yakuake > Appearance > Install", and while I figured out "Configure Yakuake" was right-click > "Edit Current Profile", there is no "Install" option in "Appearance". I could "Edit" the current theme to add the wallpaper, but I can't see any way to add this theme. Any ideas?
Don't worry - finally found "Configure Yakuake" - the tiny little bar at the bottom with even tinnier buttons was not visible in the default colour scheme (I only just installed this app) but after changing colours I could then see the bar, and found the appropriate button. Cheers
Thank you for these theme. I like it.
One problem: it doesn't fit well with Light Theme (scrollbar)
Because it's not easy to change colors for one application I've made easy qss theme for scrollbar with better colors

It does't depend on system colors.
QSS Code:
http://pastebin.com/RVkmKXSs
Usage: yakuake --stylesheet <path/to/style.qss>
Second thing: could you add border to theme? I saw that it's not so easy task - you have to match upper background with lower one.
Thank you for the feedback and the tip with stylesheet.
Yes, border is a very nice thing to have, but, unfortunately, there is a problem with theming border with yakuake. Border in yakuake is specified only with color and width, so it is not themeable using images. And when border is added it shifts left and right parts of the tabs area toward the center. So to add border, I will need to merge single color and gradient picture to look nice, but will try to.
BTW, what would you like to change in this theme? I was worried about the size and the readability of the signs on the buttons in normal state, but decided to upload to gather feedback.
So thanks for not waiting and sharing it. With mentioned toolbar fix it's very good for me.
Indeed buttons could be more readable. I think making their background lighter could help with it. I think arrow on menu button should be bigger (normal and hovered). Hovered close button also should be bigger and maybe red rather than yellow.
I'd move add and remove buttons few pixels down to be vertically centered in brown bar.
I don't know if something could be done with it but I think there's too less space between title of inactive tab and upper border.
Border it's not only nice but also improve readability. With standard scrollbar when you open yakuake over other window sometimes you can not tell were is end of the window. But I understand the problem (I try to change it myself and saw the result) With scrollbar's style fix it's not big problem for me now.

I think there is no need to extract file. Just go to Configure Yakuake > Appearance > Install and then select downloaded file

What do you think about the new version? I added border and made skin larger.
I like it.
