INSTALL Just replace gftp's *.xpm (usually located in /usr/share/gftp) with files from archive.

It appears there are some license issues though. :(
It seems you have set the license to GPL, but I'm afraid you need to license it as Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/), if you're using icons from tango-icon-theme.
Other than that, keep up the good work!
Great. ;) I'd mention the buttons on the connect bar, but I've skinned gFTP (With Tango icons nonetheless) so I know it uses XPM for those and XPMs suck. :P Other than that unavoidable error, great job.

Those mimetype icons need to be scaled a bit, not cropped.
