I made a blue version using GIMP's colorizer. Check it out here: http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=67748824016883157997

LegendaryBibo

I get an error when trying to open the zip file.

Hmmm... Worked for me. Try this one (.tar): http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=25571480267201797730

I simply did a Hue:-150 shift on all images containing red. Looks pretty good.

1. I have made an icon for Zorin OS, which is tested to work (Zorin.png or zorin.png, I don't know which one) It is derived from an official logo from http://www.zorin-os.com/ and the Grau included icons. Here it is: https://imgur.com/qzJqLhr It could use some tweaking, but it works for me. 2. A suggestion for customization: Add a "selected option" color picker to the install script (e.g. ask the user for hex value) This is optional, as it didn't take me too long to modify in GIMP.

I followed your instructions, but I can't seem to get it to work. In terminal this keeps coming up. Would you like to set this as your new theme? [(y)es (n)o] y Generating grub configuration file ... Found theme: /boot/grub/themes/Grau/theme.txt Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-3.16.0-38-generic Found initrd image: /boot/initrd.img-3.16.0-38-generic Found memtest86+ image: /boot/memtest86+.elf Found memtest86+ image: /boot/memtest86+.bin No volume groups found Found Windows Vista (loader) on /dev/sda2 Any idea what's going on? This seems to happen with every theme that I try.

Hi, I loved your theme. Is it possible to update the windows logo for the new one? Is it possible to add the elementary OS too? Hi, While the Ubuntu icon is displaying correctly, the windows icon is empty. Any idea?

Hi, I followed the instructions, I installed it on a PC with Fedora 20 and a resolution of 1920x1080. It works, but when I select an OS I got a black text box with error message "Error: requested to scale to a size w/ a zero dimension", then the selected OS is started without problems. Any Idea? Thanks

agnomelookuser

First of all to get it working on fedora I had to comment the line #GRUB_TERMINAL_OUTPUT="console" in /etc/default/grub Then to fix that message, I deleted progress_highlight_w.png and progress_highlight_e.png in /boot/grub2/themes/Grau/

The Fedora icon doesn't work. The icon file name is Fedora when it should be fedora ;)

LegendaryBibo

Thanks, I updated it. I think I had it capitalized because some version of Fedora look for "Fedora.png" and others look for "fedora.png". I had the same issue with Arch.

Odd, what distro are you using? If you open up /etc/default/grub and scroll to the bottom is there a line for GRUB_THEME?

bahram

GRUB

How to install a grub theme:

  1. Extract the theme to /boot/grub/themes/

  2. Edit /etc/default/grub file. Find the line starting with "#GRUB_THEME" and change it to "GRUB_THEME=/boot/grub/themes/[THEME_FOLDER]/[theme.txt]" (replace [THEME_FOLDER] ; [theme.txt] is probably OK ; remove "[]" brackets)

  3. Run sudo update-grub
