Description:
A Grub 2 theme based on the KDE 4 Oxygen theme.

Install directions are in the tar file.

Also, if someone had links to Oxygen themed distro icons, I'd be more than happy to update them.

One more thing, as I'm not a KDE user, I had to base this off of screenshots which is probably a whole mixture of different versions of Oxygen so feel free to direct me to what the current version looks like so I can correct it.

Updated: Added necessary files so it can work with Early Bird.

Early Bird can be found here:

Thanks! This is a neat theme. I have been looking for a new theme to replace my current one which is Azenis2.

I really like this theme and would love to use it, but i have to say... I'm a little concerned. I looked over your theme files and in particular the install.sh file. Given that your install directly modifies /etc/default/grub and /boot/grub/grub.cfg you really ought to include an uninstall script that reverts the grub file back to its original state. Anyone interested in using this theme should be very careful! Please make sure that you make a backup of the necessary grub files so that you can change it back. Overall, it's a great theme. Great look, very thoughtfully crafted. Just that one rather important concern. Still voting up though :-)

But how do you uninstall it? Thanks.

Hi, I followed the directions to install but when I reboot the screen just flashes purple for a second and then my computer just restarts. I'm using Ubuntu Natty and Im triple booting so grub shows at startup normally. I even checked in grub-customizer that the theme was enabled in my grub settings and it was. Any ideas?

GRUB

How to install a grub theme:

  1. Extract the theme to /boot/grub/themes/

  2. Edit /etc/default/grub file. Find the line starting with "#GRUB_THEME" and change it to "GRUB_THEME=/boot/grub/themes/[THEME_FOLDER]/[theme.txt]" (replace [THEME_FOLDER] ; [theme.txt] is probably OK ; remove "[]" brackets)

  3. Run sudo update-grub
