Please insert bootsplash in

file:/usr/share/bootsplash/themes/Mandrake/images
Now you can move in folder /boot
initrd-2.4.18-6mdk.img
And type as root

mkinitrd --splash auto /boot/initrd-2.4.18-6mdk.img 2.4.18-6mdk
and
lilo

and restart your Computer.

I followed the directions on installing the bootsplash but the default one still comes up?

I tried with this one, as well as the other new bootsplash image (in 1024x768) that you had here a while ago. When I reboot I get a black screen and it will not boot in framebuffer mode at all. Are these jpgs somehow unsupported by Mandrake's bootsplash?
