I am coming in late on this, but the text, as already noted, is a letter from the Arabic alphabet. It is the letter "Daad", which is pronounced somewhat like the English letter "D" but heavier. Sorta from back further in the mouth. No particular meaning in itself, just a graceful shape. A "swan of letters", so to say. Oh, if the dot above the letter was removed, it would be "Saad". (Not sad but a letter that sounds like a heavy "S".) Cheers, J.D. Abolins
The splashscreen has a letter in Arabic which has no corresponding letters in any living language. Arabic is often refered as the "this letter's name" language. The closest letter to it in English is the "d". Yet its far from being a "d".

It looks good, but what does it say?
I'd like to know too. By the way, hrholme, I like the Marx quote. Does DK happen to stand for Dead Kennedys?
Thanks for the compliment. As a marxist i had to use a Marx quote :) DK is for Denmark, which is where I live :)
